Top Quality food, large selection of drinks, excellent service and reasonable prices, I always dine here when in Wigan, lunch or evenings. Lovely atmosphere too

went for xmas dinner on xmas day £82 pp. simolar price to miller and carter
ive never seen anyone do it so badly. how can you make turkey and ham taste the same. rubbish
pork stuffing = cheap sage n onion stuffing. cook so hard that it would knock you out if it was thrown at you.
i did suggest that the owner and chef should ne made to eat the food
serious horrific.

Sadly this will not be a good review I'll start with the negatives of which there are many and then the positive of which there are very few. Where to begin clearly the chef and the owner did not do a taste test on the Christmas menu I'll get to that in a minute the owner and the manager did not do a pre service meeting with the staff it was disorganised from setting up the tables to the staff knowing the simple things like it was a set menu not ordering from the menu the order in which the food was coming out. Also one of the kitchen staff walked out the kitchen and through the main dinning area with a 5 gallon drum of what looked like old oil although not sure it was and proceeded to poor it down the drain in front of the main window of the restaurant then another member of staff repeatedly walk through the restaurant carring rubbish to the bins across the road! The soup was awful and the croutons tasted like they were cooked old oil The main course turkey and ham with all the trimmings I don't know how the managed to make the ham so bland that it need salt so that you could taste anything! I can only assume they boiled it for 3 hrs the mash did not have any seasoning or cream or butter and was not whipped the stuffing was pretty much cremated the rest of the food was average at best. And the owner walking round giving people drinks to stop them complaining didn't help neither did the fact that the owner did not eat his own Christmas lunch. Positives once the staff got pasted the confusing start they were pretty good and friendly. You also have to compare this restaurant/cafe because that's what it felt like to Miller and Carter as Gallimore's charged £82 per person for Christmas dinner and Miller and Carter charge around £100 per person the service there is extremely good the food is superb and the surroundings and atmosphere was beautiful when we had Christmas dinner there. In short we will never eat there again

Absolute garbage service. We waited an hour for our starter, half the menu wasn't available, food was cold. The atmosphere was good only because there were 12 of us having a great time, it was just a pity the restaurant was rubbish

Very slow service. Food was tasty. The restaurant it's self looked untidy with beer barrels and toddler chairs stood up against the wall. A bit bland inside.

Had a fantastic meal with family for fathers day had the 1kg tommohawk steak cooked to perfection have always gone to gallimores and will visit again soon 1st class restaurant .
