A real taste of Espana?
The fish dishes stole the show for me personally. Mussels, scallops cooked beautifully. Hot, fresh, crispy calamari.
The baked cod was sensational and something to write home about along with the cod fritters. Homemade aioli divine and crispy patata?s bravas wonderful. Cosy, warm, welcoming atmosphere, great music, wonderful friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Beautiful wine and excellent drinks selection, finished off with dessert and great coffee.

Excellent venue - all the popular favourites -potatos bravas, pil pil gambas, chorizo red wine, spanish ommelette etc were available and done well. It was midweek so unfortunately my choices weren't available as opposed to a well stocked weekend or in season. However our hostess , Maria an original Barcelona native , suggested tasty altetnatives that went down really well.
Eager to satisfy she kindly accepted the challenge of making a baraquito - multilayered coffee known in the Canaries , but not at all common on the Spanish mainland or Catalunya as a finisher for me. It turned out as one of the finest I've had.

Barcelona Bistro Tapas Bar in ashton in Makerfield had been recommended by friends and we haven't been let down. Amazing tasty food, prepared and served by a genuine family from Barcelona. Service was spot on.
As they don't take bookings, you never had the feeling to be rushed through the service. And we have been lucky to be there, when Maria the chef cooked her Paella, which only happens on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays
