“Went for afternoon tea on Saturday. lovely place and staff, the lemon tart is stunning, only comments are we got the 50% off voucher which was worth it but wouldn’t pay double that. Also the bread for the sandwiches wasn’t of quality.”

“Epic Xmas jumpers ?Although I almost missed them because I was told they were sold out.It’s a good job I went rummaging.What a shopping experience. So quiet and still and lonely on Xmas eve — this wee good and bad in equal measure.I felt a bit like Michael J Fox in Back to the Future the shop is so timeless.And the range of products is so random sometimes you feel like you’ve found the Holy Grail.Other times you are lost in the stock cupboard in your first job after school.A roller trolley full to the brim of gubbins came in at a price of a bag or two from other supermarkets. So prices are lower than most. Still could be lower to help more people who need it.Man on till was as jolly as Santa himself and exceptionally helpful.It just needs a few tweaks. If the shop really tried to involve the local traditions such as car boot sales on the parking lot or historical re-enactments of the Battle of Warcock Hill (1642) or maybe local acting treasure Maxine Peake could play Prince Rupert of the Rhine.Maybe have some local farmers represented in the meat aisle it could give this shop the extra pull the Keawyed City needs.And just being more open in general about employee support, pay rises and rights, carbon footprint and sustainability would be good to know for a simple shopper like myself.”
