My first time visit here as I'm not a local. The landlady was very welcoming and friendly. She put on a great buffet for our presentation. There's a brilliant outdoor seating area and given the sun was shining we look full advantage. A good pint of John Smith's and reasonably priced. A great traditional pub.

Food dreadful I could cook better food at home for 1/4 the price. Drive up the road to the Hulton arms for a far better dinning experience.
Staff miserable and looked like they had lost the will to live, beer was well kept.
Atmosphere was fine.

Called in last week for a meal and I can definitely recommend the fish and chips.Excellent service and the staff were very friendly,will definitely be calling back.

I came here with family and two dogs on a very quiet Friday. The staff were lovely and accommodating. At first glance the menu did worry us as the prices were so low we felt the quality of the food might not be great. We were however wrong, the quality was fantastic, but the portions were smaller than most pubs, this was fine for us as we aren't big eaters, if you are you could order 2 meals and it would still be cheaper than most places in the area. Also offers bluelight discount.
Vegetarian options: Limited options, I think 2 mains, but standard for a typical small pub.

Called in today for the first time, Plesent greetings at the door, Three adult meals all were lovely and arrived quickly, My Salt and Pepper chips were the best I've ever had , Definitely call back when passing again ?

What an absolute little gem. Walked in pretty much as food was finishing, staff were very accommodating and found us a table, they then told us about the chippy tea Friday offer!! Wow lovely cheese and onion pie, perfect rag pudding and gorgeous sausage. Family of 4 fed for £24 and Everyone cleared there plate. We will definitely be back.

1st time I've been in here for many years. Met for a bit of a reunion with people I grew up with over 40 years ago. Everybody was really friendly and staff very accommodating. Really enjoyed myself tonight.
