Fundamental but good access to M6 and Liverpool and Manchester.
McDonalds next door. Restaurant not open (August 2025) but we were aware.

Great rooms as always. Shame that the restaurant is getting refurbished as this is always convenient. They have moved the coffee machine to the lobby with free refills for the time being.

Stayed over two nights 28/29July '25 and on arriving was greeted by a graciously welcoming front of desk staff in the early evening. Over two nights she assistrd in advising on food options as their restaurant is indergoing refurbishment. As it was a Monday evening and most Hospitality establishments are closed it turned into a bit of a chore for me, but for her, she was a font of knowledge and through her help we ended up in a place called La Casa (worth a trip). Story for another time, baxk ro the review. The reoom was clean and spacios with an in impeccable water closet. Fairly high rating apart from the refurbishment issue which we could have been warned about. Was a bit worried about vehicle security as there was evidence of a break in but was reasured by the same member of staff ( Im sorry i cant remeber her name, shows ho observant I am) and advised the best postion to park my vehicle in for added security. Overall a solid 8/10 so well done.

Room was spotless, bed wonderful, towels fluffy & thick. Had a really comfortable couple of nights there & would recommend. They are refurbishing their restaurant so expect it will be even better then. Although quite basic with no frills it was terrific value for money.

All of the staff at the hotel we so polite and friendly, they are going through a tough time with the restaurant closing in a couple of weeks but handled everything brilliantly.
I was asked at every meal If I had any allergies and they were always friendly and had a smile on their faces .
A big thanks to all of the staff that I met : Donna, Jazz, Shannon, Mel and Abbie and anyone else i met whilst there.
Thanks for making my stay enjoyable.

Stayed here after recent day out at Knowsley Safari park, needing somewhere to stay between Liverpool and Manchester. Found this place the cheapest, although was showing other Premier Inn locally. Chosen this place over Holiday Inn (Which had a pool and gym, breakfast, all included in the price). Kind of regret choosing this place if I?m totally honest.
ROOM - Agreed, for the price of £59 for one night, family of 4, I was not expecting a lot. There was no air con at this Premier Inn, which does state on their website and we knew this beforehand. The room was well cleaned with a very comfortable bed. Definitely had a good night sleep. Good sized TV in the room, took my own FireStick and plugged it in. Tea coffee and kettle included. Towels too. Only negatives I have - 1) No air con was a regretting choice. The room temperature never dropped lower than 24*c, sometimes reaching 26*c. 2) You got a fan, but the fan in our was temperamental, sometimes didn?t spin, Was also dusty on the fan.
STAFF - To be honest, the only time we saw staff was checking in and checking out the next morning. Staff were polite, professional and helpful. Can?t fault the staff at all!
PARKING - Free for staying patrons, just make sure you enter your registration into the tablet at reception. Will give you 24 hours per stay you are at the hotel.
FOOD - Well, I?ll be leaving a review on the restaurants page, not here. In short and straight to the point, go to Toby Carvery - Waterside (WA11 7LX) about a 10 minute drive - especially for Breakfast! Waited 1 hour from arrival to cooked food on the table. Don?t go to the one on site. The restaurant isn?t in the Premier Inn, but is on site a few steps away from the front door.
Overall, room was cheap, comfortable and good for its price. Choose wisely if you want air-con in my opinion. As I said above, I wish I booked the Holiday Inn Haydock locally which had breakfast, swimming and gym included for a similar price. But thought I would try this place with it being slightly cheaper (by £20 or so). Initially, it was the restaurant that let the experience down. All other Premier Inn?s I have stayed at all have better food / restaurants in the same building, with better food.
Personally, place is okay, but I should have chosen wisely which I didn?t. You win some and loose some, we all learn.
(I did get a good nights sleep though)

This is your standard Premier inn. It was clean, the staff were polite and helpful. Had to wait a while for our evening meal. But that was likely to it being under staffed.

Great staff but the room was way too hot at 24°C when I arrived and did not cool. It was early May and 18°C dropping to 12°C over night. This hotel has no air conditioning and the heating was off. I didn't expect the room to be that hot.

Really busy, being the Easter holidays, but it was so quiet inside the room. Spacious, with a huge comfy bed, and what I needed most after walking all day, a large bath. Best night's sleep in weeks! Breakfast made to order. Had to wait a while, but it was very busy and worth it when it came. I went on a 5 hour Lakeland hike and the breakfast kept me going for another hour after that! Friendly staff.
