Tesco should probably stop training the staff picking online orders to block the aisles. It's so egregious it can only be deliberate.
Other than that, it's a perfectly fine store.

Has everything you need, even a pharmacy and a tailor. The toilets are always appalling, never clean, smell bad, no soap - or if there is, its watered down to nothing. The till staff are always fine and polite but the customer service staff are rude. Very dismissive and unhelpful. All of the security guards are polite too apart from the short asian man with a turban. He is incredibly rude and weird. There is a young boy who works on customer service with a turban and he is so lovely and goes above and beyond with his customer service.

I bought an apple gift card and it came up with an error and I needed assistance and a young man with black hair who said he was the checkout manager helped me get my gift card working, he was very quick dealing with it and friendly the whole time even though the checkouts were extremely busy

Extremely disappointed with the service I received at Tesco Extra on Chester Road, Manchester. I went in to buy four tins of toddler formula milk for my daughter ahead of our holiday. Despite there being plenty in stock, I was abruptly told by a staff member that I could only buy three. I politely explained the situation and asked to see the policy. She called over a manager named ?Jack,? who was rude, dismissive, and refused to show me any proof of the policy. He wouldn't even give his full name.
To make things worse, I was surrounded by multiple staff, and one of them took a tin from my basket without asking. The whole experience was uncomfortable and humiliating, as if I had done something wrong just for trying to buy essentials for my child. I later found out that any policy like this is over a decade old and no such notice was displayed in the store.
If a policy exists, customers deserve clear signage and respectful communication?not to be told to ?check online? while being treated with suspicion.
I left the store empty-handed and bought the formula from Asda instead, where the price was lower and the staff were far more professional. Tesco, you?ve lost a loyal customer because of poor training and even worse attitude from your staff.

Lost some money near the till it was handed into customer services. Store has good variety of halal food only downside is I make special trips to this store for the halal meatballs and they are nearly always out of stock.

While we were shopping, my youngest child (3 yo) needed to urgently use the toilet facilities at Tesco. We did use the facilities and on our way out, the exit was blocked by a yellow barrier. I kindly asked the staff to remove the barrier so we could exit. Instead of unlocking and opening the barrier for us, a staff member (potentially cashier, middle aged, with short bob-cut blonde hair) verbally attacked me, saying that I should not be there or be using the toilets because they were closed. I explained that there were no signs or barriers but she insisted that I 'or some other idiot' (staff words) had moved the barriers. I told her that the whole interaction was not appropriate and then I started crying because of the unjust accusations, the attitude of the staff member and the embarassment i had endured in front of my kids.
Except for this appauling behaviour from the staff, what I also realised is that this Tesco is being visited by thousands of people daily.
Looking back, every time I had to use the toilet facilities at that Tesco, they were either locked or filthy, smelly and unhygienic.
Probably it would be worth monitoring the state of the toilet facilities a bit more closely and potentially renovate it so that it is always accessible to people that need to used them.
Tried to complain formally, but could not find a form to fill on the website and customerservice email address bounced back.

Organised by cuisine - there's a Chinese aisle, an Italian, a middle Eastern. So where's the beans? No idea. What a weird way to set out a shop. The coffee is with the cereal, crisps with the wine. It's funny until it's not. Can't ever find anything so don't shop here.

Overall I think this a great Tesco store, always clean and neat. However, why are there usually only a handful of tills (manned tills) open when the place is busy, with long queues and yet about 15 tills closed? I wish somebody could offer me a reasonable explanation.
