Took my van for an MOT told me front arm bushes dangerous and tyre was cut to cords,i thought it was odd as i had no knocking noise which you would expect for dangerous and never reported on previous 2 mots at the same MOT station,so i took the van to 2 more MOT stations the first checked both fails and said they are not fails tyre had a cut but no cords visible and bushes were not even split or perished,i then took it to a commercial MOT centre who said the same thing so i ended up paying for a full MOT elsewhere and it passed,i will never trust Halfords again.not even a one star should be none.

Wouldn?t trust this lot to run a hot dog stand. booked in for 9am, rearranged my MOT for late morning. Upon returning at my allotted time, was told they had just started MOT?ing another car and it would be a 2 hour wait before my car was ready. Got a taxi home and ended up picking up the car around 3pm (for a 9am MOT). Didn?t get a call telling me it was ready, I just turned up and it was sat in the car park. No apologies. Poor. Glad I had booked the day off work or I would have been in a right mess!

AVIOD THESE CLOWNS!!! Took my car to Halfords to re-gas my air con , they attached a gas canister to my car , pulled the trigger for all of 60 seconds then told me it was done and charged me £140 ? got in my car the next day and air con isn?t working!! Took it back to Halfords who said I may have a leak and booked me in at their garage on Edward street , Stockport for 9am 6 days later . Took my car in at 8.50am , by 4pm I hadn?t heard from them so I went back to the garage and my car was still sat in the same place I left it , they told me it hadn?t been looked at yet ??? they had had my car for 7 HOURS!! I took my keys and went else where . I have since found out that a re- gas takes at least 45 minutes, not the 60 seconds that it took Halfords to ?do it? DON?T have your car re -gassed at Halfords they are a bunch of cowboys , appalling service!!

I booked my car in online for MOT the next day, having tried two independent garage more local to me, both of which had waiting times of two weeks. The guys on reception were super friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome, even though they were evidently very busy and juggling messages and tasks. They explained they were a bit behind and that the MOT would be done in about 90 minutes and they would contact me to let me know. They got back in touch on time and advised me the car had passed with no issues. I picked it up about an hour later, paperwork was ready and they passed me my key and thanked me for using them. Even though I?d only been once before about 8 years previously I felt as though I was a regular customer! Really positive professional service and cheerful to boot, highly recommended.

My girlfriend had an MOT at this centre and was quoted £350 for rod end replacements, we ended up going elsewhere which was able to repair them for £60, we were then informed by Halfords she needed her brake pads replacing which they quoted £300 for!!! We went somewhere else yet again and got it done for £50. This centres prices are absolutely outrageous I would avoid coming here at all costs!!
We will not be going back here again BIG MISTAKE.

Charlotte on the front desk and sam the mechanic technician were absolutely brilliant advice communication honest I really had an issue with my van they fixed it that day and resolved another issue over the weekend fantastic service guys thank you

Meh, the 2 stars is for halfords autocenter in general. Just feels like a 'do the bare minimum' kind of business.

We needed to drop our car off urgently after a breakdown on the weekend. Halfords on Edward street were great. They found the problem on the same day, ordered parts and fixed it the next working day. Charlotte liaised with my warranty company to have all the work signed off by them and kept me informed at every step of the way.

I had been to a few garages where I lived to explain my problem and not one of them was either interest or helpful.
I rang Stockport and straightaway Charlotte interacted with me - understood what the issue was and said she 'would get back to me'. Of course I thought she wouldn't, but she proved me wrong - with positive news taboot. I booked my car in for the next morning. Thanks to George, where others had failed, the car was sorted out to perfection.
I drove from Macclesfield all the way to Stockport and after this 5-Star service, I would happily do it again. That is testament in itself.

Had my vehicle booked in for wheel alignment after previous appointment at another Halfords Autocentre said their equipment was too small to do the alignment for my vehicle. After arriving was told they were too busy and I should bring the vehicle back at 5pm! What is the point of booking for 11:30 only to be told when you arrive to bring the vehicle back after 5 and a half hours! I cancelled and asked for refund from the rebooking team and taken the business to a more professional outfit!

Very helpful and friendly staff
