I had a terrible experience with Argos. I bought a Chromebook laptop only to find out it doesn?t accept Microsoft Office downloads. When I tried to return it, they refused, saying it wasn?t faulty and also because the seals were broken ? even though you can?t know it?s unsuitable until you open and try it. The manager, John, was very unpleasant and spoke down to me, which made the situation even worse. I will never shop at Argos again ? if this had been Amazon, the return would have been handled with no issue and an apology. Very disappointed.

Found item, staff are helpful, its FREE parking after 5PM so that is a bonus.

Staff are very rude and aggressive. Clearly not trained how to deal with customers. The management also especially on a weekend are not fit for purpose. I had to get an apology from their head office. I do not recommend this branch at all and the other local ones are better in my experience. I won't be coming back here nor should anyone wanting professional and courteous staff.

The service was efficient and the staff were so friendly! Our shopping trolley was broken so we ordered a new one, and in minutes the new one was ready to collect. They helped us put the new one together right there in the store and they even disposed of our old one for us!

My wife and I recently visited Argos in the Peel Centre, Stockport to buy and collect a tumble dryer. We were assisted by both John and Karen and wish to commend them for their polite and professional manner in dealing with the transaction.

Bought Black & Decker cordless drill on 12th May 2025. Did not work on masonry setting and that the reason I bought it for. Tried to return it 8 days later. Two members of staff, one being a guy with glasses would not refund me because chuck key did spin round. Had to return again 3 days later with my joiner son and a brick to prove it would not penetrate through brick. I kid you not. Staff act like they know all about drills. Returns policy shocking. Don't buy from here if you value good customer service.

Extremely Disappointing Experience and Poor Understanding of Consumer Rights
I bought a PS5 from Argos Stockport, and it wouldn?t even switch on out of the box. I brought it back the next day, and the staff plugged it in, claimed it worked fine, and told me to contact Sony. This is completely incorrect - under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the responsibility lies with the retailer, not the manufacturer. I was still well within my 30-day right to a refund for a faulty product.
Despite this, I was sent away and forced to call Sony, wasting my time. I brought the console home again, and it still wouldn?t stay on. I went back for a third time, explained everything clearly, and was accused of not calling Sony - which I had. When I showed the call log from Sony and explained that legally they were obligated to deal with the refund, I was met with attitude and resistance.
Eventually, Sony themselves called Argos Stockport directly, backed me up 100%, and told the manager they were in the wrong and that this had nothing to do with Sony. Only then did Argos agree to issue a refund - but not without making the entire process unnecessarily difficult and stressful. The manager who was on at the time and conveniently hid her name needs better training on this.
This was a straightforward refund under consumer law. Instead, I had to waste my time, argue my rights, and be treated like I was in the wrong. Extremely poor customer service and a total failure to respect basic consumer law. I won?t be shopping here again.

I attended the shop today 17/02/25 to return a faulty dash cam I had purchased yesterday, upon entering the shop I was greeted at the returns section by a lady called Natalie, I placed my dash cam and wiring kit on the table and kindly said ?Hi, id like to return my dash cam and wiring kit please, she then asked if I had a receipt which I replied to with ?yes I have an email receipt? she then asked me what the item was to which I replied ?it is a dash cam and it is faulty? she then quite abruptly replied to me saying ?that?s not what you said at the beginning? I was quite shocked by this abrupt rude response to which I then replied excuse me and she repeated her self, I then said ?why? What did I say at the beginning?? She then replied with ?that you wanted to return it? I then replied to her saying ?yes I didn?t specify a reason at the beginning I just explained I?d like to return it? she then replied to me incredibly rudely with words to the effect of ?I?m not arguing with you? I found this incredibly astonishing based on the fact I was incredibly polite to Natalie and was very calm and collected ?I then replied to her in shock with ?who is arguing?? She then raised her hands into the air as if to say ?I?m done? and said ?you know what, see you later? and abruptly left the till which I found to be absolutely disgusting behaviour from a grown woman who is supposed to be in a customer facing role, she then walked past her colleagues towards the rear of the shop and loudly said to them infront of many other customers ?you can try serving ?him? cos I?m done? I found this highly embarrassing and incredibly rude and disgusting from a member of staff I should not be treated this way by anyone let alone a trained member of staff in a customer facing roll, after a couple of minutes of being left stood on my own at the till absolutely speechless I was greated by a new never of staff called ?Karen? I asked Karen ?the name of the member staff that had just served me? to which she replied with her name ?Natalie? I explain to Karen how disgusted I was with how rude she was to me and the way she handled a simple polite return and I asked her if she had had a bad day or something as it seemed incredibly strange to me to which she smiled and said ?I?m not sure to be honest? Karen then helped me in returning my dash cam in a very professional and polite way, in the way I would have expected it to have been handled by Natalie, which of course did not happen, I have spent thousands at Argos over the last couple of years as can be seen on my account associated with my email, and I have never encountered a member of staff like Natalie in matter of fact I have never encountered someone so rude and abrupt in my life, I have posted a full and detailed complaint to Argos head office and look forward to my reply.

Click and collect order which I collected today. Two items which were quite heavy and the excellent staff met me at the rear of the store and assisted me in getting them to my car. Thank you very much for going above and beyond.

Awful service. Member of staff frowned at me in disgust as I had several items to collect on a single order. She told me to ask another member of staff to collect my next order. My items were placed in front of me and the member of staff just walked off. No idea if all my items had been collected and no bag offered or a simple acknowledgement. I asked for a bag and paid the 30p charge to the store manager who was also behind the till, who threw the bag at me and walked off. Really poor service, particularly at this time of the year.

Picked up an order from Argos and had to pay a £100 parking fine because the parking fee signs weren?t visible from where I entered and parked. Avoid the stores here as they obviously don?t care about their customers. I will no longer be shopping here.
