Lovely little getaway for the evening. Staff are very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Atmosphere is great with background music ranging from all eras. Food was very nice well presented and hot where required. Side salad was a bit nice to leave... oops. Prices for starters ranged from £5.95 to £7.95. So a little higher than some establishments of similar nature, but I will say, well worth it.
Although out in the sticks so to speak for most it does mean a nominated driver might be worth considering.

We visited this pub last night and was very disappointed - waited 45 minutes for our main course and I had the peppercorn chicken which was overcooked and dry - could hardly cut through - my wife had the beef in red wine which she said the meat was good but the red wine sauce was tasteless - we both also thought the veg was bland - I am not one for leaving reviews generally but was so disappointed - credit to the manager who at least knocked off the price of my dish

Avoid this restaurant unless you want to wait an excessive time for food. We went on one occasion and waited well over an hour with our family and when asked where the food was, we got told unfortunately they had forgotten to do our order. After a further 30 minutes we got our order with a drink as an apology. So tonight we thought we would give it another try as mistakes happen. We again waited over 45 minutes and when we asked about our food our reply was the grill has been busy ( only 4 tables taken with people). I asked why was we not made aware of the wait to be told they haven?t told us in the kitchen. If this happens when the restaurant is quiet then I would not like to see the wait times when it is busy.

Great food. Had the Cumberland mash with a creamy pepper sauce. Was decent to be honest. Starter i had the duck spring rolls. Not the cheapest place but is there anywere cheap anymore!
Would i go again 100% yes.
Went on a Sunday about 4pm and it was dead. Few people were moaning about no Sunday dinners or lack of meat choice. I guess you need to get in early if that's what your after.

Not been in a while and it's not changed, but that's OK with me - still a relaxed, friendly country pub and restaurant with a great Sunday lunch and friendly staff.

Nice county pub with fantastic home made food. Just called in on passing and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
