So impressed! And so lovely to see independent places like this opening outside of town! Service was impeccable even though it was a Friday eve, food was 10/10 - in particular the beef short rib! Highly recommend.

Proof that if a place is good people will dine out! This place ticks all the boxes. The food is delicious the staff are lovely and informative and the decor is stunning. Drink selection is fantastic. Also so reasonably priced. So nice to see a great local restaurant.

Great addition to Stalybridge, fair price for the quality of the food. Had to double check the pasta dish was actually vegan as the vegan Parmesan was so good.

Phenomenal staff, food and service. Even went beyond their job role and helped me retrieve my keys out the sewage drain from the outside of the restaurant. The food itself was outstanding and worth the travel from Birmingham!

Our second visit back at Cafe Continental and it was fantastic and even better than the first time we came back in November not long after they first opened. Food delicious, service fantastic and a great atmosphere. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and they created me a delicious mocktail as I couldn't have the cocktail menu - it was wonderful and they gave me the recipe after which was greatly appreciated! Food wise, highly recommend the slow cooked beef, croquettes, potatoes, chicken and truffle bread! Make sure you visit!

The reviews where brilliant!
Once we arrived we had to wait for our table (not a issue), Then we where seated my first thoughts where the seats where horrible like cain seats they weren?t comfortable what so ever.
We ordered our meals and drinks
Everything looked amazing
The chicken scratchings tasted burned all the other starters where lovely
The mains looked absolutely stunning but the meats where fatty I had beef and pork beef was lovely with a lot of fat and the pork was very fatty and sickly the Yorkshire puddings where massive too big for myself you would need a separate plate ideally
Twice our drink orders where wrong

I loved the on tap beer and I?m very fussy when it comes to larger
The service wasn?t the best I had to ask twice for our empty items to be taken as we had them sat in front of us for long periods of time
With the music so loud we couldn?t hear conversation on our table
The venue is in need of repair

No I was disappointed and Since we came from Huddersfield and the cost Unfortunately no but please go and judge for yourself

We have just visited for Sunday dinner and the experience was absolutely fantastic.
With the four of us having beef, pork or chicken we were all amazed by the large portions and stunned by the Yorkshire pudding ??
Service was quick and the staff were really friendly and attentive.
Will definitely visit again ??

Disappointing Booking Experience
We booked a table for two at 8:30 PM on a Wednesday, a time that?s usually not busy, with plenty of availability. Unfortunately, my partner became unwell, so I tried to reschedule. I called but couldn?t get through, so I sent a message via Facebook. When I didn?t receive a reply, I followed up with another message and then emailed. I also left a second voicemail, but still received no response.
As a result, they kept our £20 deposit. While I understand the need for deposits, a bit of discretion would have gone a long way, especially for a small table at a quiet time and with the intention to rebook.
What frustrated me most was the complete lack of response to my repeated attempts to contact them. It comes across as dismissive, even arrogant. Frankly, The Ritz in London has more flexible and considerate booking policies.
