Stayed in one of the shepherd's huts and couldn't be happier. Would definitely recommend and go to stay again.

Just popped in for breakfast and have to say that I could not find fault with any thing. Sausage delicious, bacon delicious, hash browns delicious, eggs mushrooms tomato and beans delicious. Service friendly and on point , and good value to boot.And the wife loved it too.

Attended my son's wedding here all I can say is the hotel and staff are fabulous , the whole day was amazing , and a big shout out to the caterers and kitchen staff as most of the guests who stayed seemed to arrive for breakfast at the same time , but they coped admirally, thanks so much ???

Stayed at this hotel whilst competing at Manchester Velodrome and I have to say it was utterly perfect.Firstly the views on arrival are stunning. It has an OL1 postcode but it's set in beautiful Pennine countryside, my room had the same view, just beautiful.Service was friendly from start to finish. From my 3pm check-in to my early morning departure, I was looked after with a smile, and great service. It made all the difference to me during my days of competition.The room was spotless and the bed, pillows and duvet were very comfortable and obviously a bit of money had been spent to make this the case. For the cost of the room I was delighted with how nice it was.My only disappointment was that I was only able to spend two nights there. I should have ridden better and got further in the competition. Next time I need to stay in the Manchester area I'm definitely coming back.

Absolutely dreadful experience, stayed there with my wife and kids. The staff are to busy at the bar, the rooms are mediocre at best. We stayed in one right next to the drains and it stunk. When you go to reception the staff are at the bar area with other guests who were getting drunk. They stop serving food at 7 which is ridiculous for a hotel. So went ventured out and found a lovely cosy pub up the road for food. Got back the noise from other guests was unbearable. Then we ran out of drinks so I asked for some water only to be told the bar was shut and if I wanted a drink then to use the bathroom. Disgusting. My boys are autistic too so they didn't really understand. Staff focus more on wedding guests etc. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, I'd give it none if I could!!

Attended a beautiful wedding on 8th September. I have say it?s one of the best weddings I?ve been to. The staff are so lovely and helpful nothing is to much for them. The meal service was amazing and the food was hot and delicious. Thank you to the fantastic host and team for making it such a wonderful experience.

Just had our wedding here, so happy we chose Grains Bar. Location stunning and all the staff want to help and ensure your day is perfect. Every single guest has said to us how good it was. The new extension and ceremony room is beautiful. Thank you for making our day so special ?

What an amazing place to stay, the hut we were in was beautiful, so clean and well equipped. The staff were so very friendly and couldn't so enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be booking again.

Attended our friends wedding last Sunday, the venue is great, the food was lovely, the service is top notch and what can I say, the staff work extremely hard to deliver a great service. I can't thank them enough for hosting the wedding we loved it all.Rooms: Stayed in Rm15, it was clean and tidy, nicely appointed, just the thing.Food & drinks: Wedding breakfast served speedily so everyone at the table had hot food. Food was high quality and very enjoyable.

We had my daughter's wedding here last week and it was wonderful. The wedding room looked amazing; the meals were piping hot and delicious: Louise and the team were fabulous, she made sure the day ran smoothly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Everyone reported that their rooms were spotless: the sun shone and the peacocks came to visit too! thank you for making sure the day was amazing ??

Just a one night stay whilst visiting friends in the area. Clean and for the price well appointed en-suite room with a comfortable bed. Being a Saturday night we could not get a dinner in the hotel but if the excellent breakfast is anything to go by it would have been good! There was a wedding reception going on but despite our early night we were not disturbed.

From minute walking in staff friendly, above and beyond helpful. Even watching them going about working, little things like picking up bits rubbish in carpark as they walked into work. Personally shown to room but up some quite steep stairs but I overheard there was a lift somewhere. The room & bathroom was IMMACULATE! even the window frame/ledge, spotless! Bathroom mirror had integrated magnifying mirror, I'v never come across before. Teatray totally adequate and with decent sized cups. Plenty of accessible plug sockets but no usb sockets Slept very well, double glazing kept road noise out, although not to busy road. Very comfy bed, great pillows, no full length mirror but the mirror was positioned well to be able get full length view as well as sit and do makeup/hair & plug socket next to mirror, always a plus. Breakfast - Excellent, glad I upgraded to full cooked breakfast £8.50, great sausages(thou when rolled over looked uncooked, but bit into it, it was fine) one off best hotel sausages I've had by far! Big juicy mushrooms, bacon not crispy n brittle like most places and served with great coffee. Overall Excellent stay ?

Attended a family wedding at the hotel in July 2023. The food menu and choices for the wedding meal were outstanding. The service and attentiveness from staff was 5 star. The grounds were beautiful and we had a little visit from the resident peacocks! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would highly recommend.
