1st time visit to a Beefeater for years, chose this one due to location of the Quays. We went for the set meal Festive menu, a good variety and plenty to choose from. We had 2 starters, a chicken burger and roast dinner main then 2 desserts. The food was hot, very nice and good portions. The service was a let down, quite slow... this wasn't the waitresses fault, I think more of the place being under staffed. I've given 4 stars but would have opted for 3.5 if poss.

Staff member Mark was serving on the bar down stairs. He was very polite , friendly and worked very well under pressure serving us and other customers considering how short staffed it was with the restaurant upstairs being fully booked . I?m afraid to say we had to wait almost an hour and half for our food and even had to cancel our desserts .

Oh dear ! I visited here first quite a few years ago and enjoyed the experience. It was a shock to see that this restaurant is in desperate need of some tender loving care. This Beefeater has definitely not recovered from Covid. We were met very curtly by a young woman who said "sit anywhere, order at the bar when you are ready". OK we chose a table, two of us. The table was bare. In the distance was a cabinet with menus on top. We are not amateur diners so we helped ourselves to menus presuming this was what you're expected to do. Chose our meals ordered and paid at the bar. This paying before you've eaten or drunk anything tickles me. A few minutes later a young women appears and shouts " who are these for ?" It was our starters " 61 " Was the reply. Had sirloin steaks for main. They were just about passable. Needed condiments, after asking for them we were told "they are on the end of the bar help yourself" We are not lazy but having to get up and get your own condiments interrupts the flow of conversation. I realise staffing problems are a great concern in the hospitality industry. However, this Beefeater is the closest to short of cooking the meal yourself experience ever. A mediocre meal at that and not value for money. Credit to the women working on this Tuesday evening they were busy.

The waitress in charge, was miserable, had a terrible manner and seemed to do nothing at all, whilst the other two staff ran around doing everything! Food was slow, very slow! my husband ordered the salmon and it was burnt but we didn't say anything as it took so long to come. Our waitress was rushed off her feet! I asked the sour faced waitress for desserts to which she just stood there and asked Eva to come (even though she was doing everything). The only good thing was Eva, she tried her best to do everything! Would not recommend going again! However I would recommend that Eva gets a pay rise! As she did everything, even making our desserts! Thanks Eva

Needed a Sunday roast dinner and decided to try here. I was definitely not disappointed. Service was brilliant, timely, ordered with lovely lady called Shannon (I think) was served by Lucy who was so nice and made sure we had all we needed including drinks. I ordered the ultimate Sunday roast and boy was it ultimate. I can eat but with this platter I of all people struggled. For the price it was well and truly worth it, didn?t even have space for pudding!!!!! Kids chose off the kids menu and for my fussy youngest the chicken bites were ideal. Will definitely go back soon.

Staying at the adjoining premier inn, we felt that £9.99 for breakfast was a really good deal- until we had breakfast. The restaurant was very busy but had one four slot toaster and one coffee machine to service the whole room. Lots of queueing, very little selection on the continental counter and the cooked breakfast tasted of literally nothing. Had we not been able to taste the coffee, I would genuinely have queried whether we had covid as there was no flavour to any of the meat products. It was as if the bacon and sausage were cooked or stored in boiling water which had removed all the flavour. I?m not sure why you would have an open kitchen when the equipment that was visible was so grimy looking. There appeared to be three members of staff on including the chef so they were clearly struggling to cope. They were pleasant and polite but that?s about the only positive I can find. Would really advise premier inn guests to look elsewhere for breakfast
