I visited Argos today to return a formula feeder maker set. The product was not used for its intended purpose at home. It was only briefly tested with water, immediately repacked, and was clearly faulty ? the bottle was defective from the outset.
The first member of staff, she gave the impression that she was processing the return, but then passed it on to the shift manager in a manner that felt misleading.
The shift manager?s response was wholly inappropriate. She incorrectly claimed there was ?residue? in the bottle when there was not. I explained, calmly and honestly, that the product had been tested only with water and was therefore still faulty and unused. Rather than listening, she dismissed my explanation, fixated on the words ?not used,? and argued that because I had initially described it that way, I was not entitled to a return.
This approach was wrong. Under the Sales of Goods Act, a customer is entitled to a refund or replacement where goods are faulty or not of satisfactory quality. My description was entirely consistent: the product was not used for feeding, only briefly tested to identify the defect, and therefore not fit for purpose. A competent manager should have recognised this and processed the return without hostility.
Instead, I was met with aggression, poor attitude, and a refusal to resolve the issue. It was not only bad customer service but a complete disregard of Argos? obligations to its customers.
I left feeling extremely disappointed. I was honest and genuine throughout, and I had a legitimate case. The manager, however, chose to make the process unnecessarily difficult and confrontational. This is not the level of service one expects from a major retailer.

Long waiting time and extremely understaffed. Only two visible staff in the store, one at the front while the other staff just sitting on the computer, couldn?t care less about the long queue. First in line and I still waited for 10 mins.

Tried to return an item that was accepted by a member of customer service over the phone but the woman in regent road working on june 10th 2025 @ 7pm and was so rude and belittling. i wouldn?t recommend purchasing anything from the staff here. She didn?t even take a look at what i was returning just looked me up and down and refused my return after asking silly questions. I?m appalled by the service today and hope there will be disciplinary in place. just to add also chuckled with her colleague when leaving.

I was served today by Jodie, and I received amazing customer service.. they were very helpful and knowledgeable, and dealt with my query instantly?so much so I felt compelled to leave a review.. this member of staff is truly a credit to Argos? very happy customer..10/10

Bought laptop. Open the box just to realise it?s too big for me so tried to return. Staff was rude and told me I couldn?t return because original package was open even tho I returned it after only an hour

Do not shop at this argos the staff are very slow three staff member to help on customer I was waiting in que for 30 minutes and there was only three people in que when I got there and now when I?ve got to collection point there saying my order has not arrived when they said it would be there after 4pm absolute joke

This Argos is an official eBay Click and Collect point. One day I went here to collect my eBay item, the staff didn't know what to do and told me to go to the Sainsburys' customer service deck (the cigarette kiosk). Then the customer service deck told me to go back to Argos as where it should be. The Argos staff could not locate my eBay item, then they told me to wait few more days. I insisted the delivery record proofed it had been delivered to them. After 15 minutes of their hassling, they finally found my item was left at the corridor and never been scanned into their system. How unprofessional and stupid they are!

I went in the shop last week and Zaid served me. I found him ever so helpful with my query that he sorted out for me. If all the staff were like him it be great. What a lovely person he is.

I visited this store (Argos inside Sainsburys) with the intention of purchasing a specific item. I ran into a few issues along the way and the wonderful Jodie was incredibly helpful. She managed to resolve everything and even got me free same day delivery to my home later that day. Very helpful and much appreciated.

The lady didn?t accept my return because there?s a scratch of the casing when I received it as it is. I don?t understand. Very very poor customer service.
