Have been using George Hill?s Sale for Six years now, the timber is great quality and very reasonably priced. Brain and all the Staff Can?t do enough for you and are great to deal with, you can have a laugh and a joke with them, not like most timber merchants. Would Highly Recommend George Hills, Sale.

Professional and friendly staff. Lots of parking spaces are available. Timber can be cut to size in situ. Highly recommend.

Very friendly, good prices, and smells like great community spirit. Not all of our timber would fit in our car and they were so kind to help drive some of it home for us - 10/10 customer service! Snag that some of the wood was cut to the wrong length but they were happy to recut for us - again, great customer service.

Having no idea about wood, sizing and joinery, I took some sample pieces into George Hills. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. They sourced the wood that I needed and even cut it to size. I would highly recommend George Hills and will return for more wood.

Dropped by to get some timber and ply, needed it cutting and was sorted out within 30 mins. Absolutely sound lads, no questions, no remarks about the awkwardness of the cuts (needed such specific lengths to avoid buying extra wood). Tom was a great help. I'll be back here again.

I'm a joiner and used hills for 30yrs just been in for 5 lengths 2.4 of 75x50 .told me it was going to be £48.80 with this I put them back.this company are using covid brexit all of the excess to boost their profits. went nt door to howarth timber and bought the same for £30.05 .if you want to be ripped of use them.

Brilliant staff been going there for years the lads are really helpful very very polite thay all ways take my stuff to my car for me I wouldn't go anywere els oh and thay all have a cheeky funny sense of humour which I find grat George Hill sale

We're very fortunate to have loads of timber yards nearby but George Hills are my default choice - run by humans, no snooty "You're a DIYer" attitude, just help where they can, honest and up front if they can't and have a down to earth sensible approach.Top lads, really appreciate all their help over the years

I went into george hills Bolton yesterday and i spent £160 cash on timber . They didnt seem happy about me asking for 2 boards to be cut , but they did it and charged me . As it happens i had measured wrong and went back today to pay for 2 more . They were not happy about cutting the pieces again and the old man was very rude to me and told me i hadnt been yesterday for some reason and went off in a huff . So i told them i would shop elsewhere and went to axfords and got what i wanted with a smile and went away happy . I would advise not to shop here .

I have used George Hills in Sale for a while now and found them to be excellent across the board. Unfortunately at the minute stock and prices are all over the place for everyone but they always try to sort out whatever we require and at a competitive price.
