Went for afternoon / early evening drinks and ended up ordering food. I ordered the vegan chicken sandwich with chunky chips - it was absolutely delicious. So good! Good beer too and friendly service. Will definitely go again.

One of the best pubs in Rochdale. It has a homely feel, a quirky interior, a great selection of beers, and very friendly staff.
I had a couple of beers, and then the cheese and onion pie with chips and beans. The food was decent and value for money, and it came out quickly despite it being a Saturday.

Great menu. Great beer. Great atmosphere.
Just made a trip down to the Baum in the centre of Rochdale - lovely venue with a fantastic feel to it. Local brews on the cask line is always nice to see, I had the alchemist by Pictish brewery (a favourite of mine). The food was fantastic, I had the 3 for £20 deal on the small plates; the black pudding scotch egg, the ribs, and the smoked salmon and prawn. It was hard to choose my favourite of the three dishes however, I came to the conclusion that the black pudding scotch egg just tipped it. The ribs fell off the bone and were full of flavour and the smoked salmon and prawns I treated like lettuce tacos!

Had a roast beef dinner last week, great amount of good quality food. Veg was nice, roasties were great and the mash. Only slight issue was the gravy was a bit salty. There wasn't much on the plate so I did ask for a little more. Was quite shocked tho to find I was charged £2.00 for this. Please put enough on the plates extra gravy should not be charged. Will return tho.

We went for lunch as I'd read a statement, whilst looking for places to go when we came over from Australia ? ?, that they had the best cheese and onion pie ? ever and boy did they deliver. It was definitely one of the best I'd ever tasted. 10/10 well worth the trip. ???. Shazza

Went in for Saturday dinner. Fairly quiet , especially given the weather, good sized beer garden almost empty. Apparently this place has just changed ownership and got a new menu, staff were apologetic saying food might take a while. It didn?t really and we weren?t disappointed! Rag pudding was spot on. Excellent choice of beers. Free roadside parking after 6pm. Lovely old style pub, will definitely go back

We had the our first date at the Baum and have since never had a bad experience there. Most recently myself and 31 other guests attended on Sat 16/11/24 after we got married for a 3 course meal. Ben and the other staff at the Baum absolutely smashed it. The atmosphere in the pub is great, the food was delicious. Our guests couldn?t praise it enough. The selection of drinks at the Baum is great if you fancy a few. Thank you so much for giving us lots of great memories. It will be somewhere we carry on visiting and I?m sure many more memories will be made there. Highly recommend.
