Whilst I enjoy the quality and variety of food at Owens and have been many times, I find the price of a small bottle of Prosecco at £10.00 way above any other restaurant in the area. Prosecco is ?my? drink and, therefore, I am familiar with the price which ranges from £6.50 to £8.50 depending upon the size of the bottle. I have mentioned it previously to a member of staff but there has not been any change made to the cost - it just doesn?t sit right with me.

The food is amazing, the staff are very efficient and friendly and the overall experience was nothing short of outstanding. I will definitely be back.

Had a very nice breakfast with my family this morning.
Would recomend for food & drinks a lot bringger to insde than it looks on the outside.

Fairly average food at what I would consider top end prices. £17 for plate meat pie, chips and gravy. All mains were around that price, prawn salad starter £9. I suspect the meals are mostly the standard arrive frozen and de-frost and beautify in the back by a herd of kids, as are most places these days in this price bracket. The place is nice enough if a little tired.certainly nothing special. It?s definitely got the local over 60?s market cornered, I was comfortably the youngest by a mile at 40odd and surrounded by o.a.p?s. I spent £145 for 2 adults, 2 kids. With 4 average meals, was underwhelmed and won?t return unfortunately.

Had a Christmas meal recently and have to say had better. An undercooked pig in blanket was not the best. Coffee orders were wrong as was the bill. Staff need to up their game.

We were quite disappointed with our experience at Owens!
We'd heard great things about this place and largely we were let down. Mum and I booked a table in the evening and we went for a platter to start and pies for main.
While the food itself was generally yummy, the platter starter was questionable (the 'steak' burgers were just standard burgers without any sauce on and the 'wings' were chicken nuggets).
The service, too, was hit and miss. There was a really lovely young man who brought our food to us and he was especially friendly. The lady who took us to our table and took our orders, however, was quite snooty and made us feel most unwelcome!
Not bad if you need to eat something decent and other places are booked, but we wouldn't go back!
