We visited on Sunday while in Manchester for the last night of Oasis. Atmosphere, welcome, staff, service and all-round feeling was second to none. We didn't order food, only drinks, but the free poppadoms were extremely welcomed! If we're in the area again I would not hesitate to visit and highly recommend for a fabulous welcome. Thank you for making our visit more special than it was already!

While we did not eat here the entire staff welcomed us in for cold (and affordable) beers before the Oasis show. A great place for a couple pints before the Oasis show.
They also served us free poppadoms which were delicious and a nice treat. I can only imagine their regular service is just as top notch and the food as delicious as the poppadoms. I regret not being in Manchester long enough to try their food and support them. Definitely check them out!

I really like this place and often go for the Sunday banquet.

I rated 1 star mainly because the food did not meet expectations?especially from a vegetarian point of view. The taste and quality were disappointing, and the options lacked the authenticity and flavour I would expect from an Indian restaurant.
If you are running an Indian restaurant, it?s really important to understand how Indian food is actually supposed to taste. Authenticity matters, especially to those of us who grew up with these flavours.
While the service and atmosphere were fine, the food is the most important part of the experience, and that?s where I felt let down.
Regarding other reviews, I always provide honest feedback based on my experience. I hope this helps you improve in the future.

Really great curries, best I've had in ages. Called in on a spontaneous evening and was so pleased. Everything fresh and service friendly and welcoming. Will be back again soon!

My son just treated me to dinner to what had always been one of our favourite restaurant. After the awful customer experience tonight, we won?t be returning again! We were overcharged for an extra round of drinks and when we questioned the bill upon exit, we were met with a rather rude tone (because we?d challenged the bill of which we were correct), and with reluctance, refunded the extra round we?d been charged for with what I can only describe as the smuggest smile I have ever seen as they had been caught out! When I asked for an apology (which had not been offered at all), it took a few asks of the Manager to finally say ?sorry? which I should never of had to ask for as it should have been offered immediately because it was an error on their part! Damn shame though as the food was great (as usual), but I?m sorry, it?s all about customer service and as the man at the front of house, you?ve really let the side down tonight! All you needed to say was sorry but needed to be prompted to do so!!
All I can say to anyone eating here is double-check your bill if it appears a little steeper than usual which made us check ours in the first place as we usually eat the same food every time we visit so when it didn?t match the usual amount, I knew something wasn?t right!!

Came New Year's Eve .From start to finish it was amazing,had a fabulous night food amazing as always,entertainment was fantastic too from Tanya all my era Motown etc .

One of my very favourite places to eat in Manchester. The Lime Tree always has sensational food, friendly staff, good portions and a wide menu. Great for vegans too as there is an entire vegan menu. Go here regularly and always have a great experience.

First time eating from the Lime Tree. We had a takeaway. All the food was lovely. We specifically chose here as they have a seperate vegan menu. I don't think many other places do in this vicinity, esp for takeaway, so that's a massive plus point for us. We will order again from here.

I will start off by saying I have eaten at the Lime Tree on NYE (and other occasions) for the last 4 years in a row as it?s our local and had excellent food and service, however after last night, my friends and I will never return.
Table for four adults and a high chair was booked for 6pm and we arrived promptly, ready to eat. We ordered shared starters and mains, but asked for food all to come at the same time - conscious we were sat with a restless 11 month old. Starter came quickly, but the rest of the food didn?t arrive?fine, we still had plenty of time. A further 1 hour and 30 passes and still no sign of mains, so one of our party decided to leave with the baby as he only lives nearby, we?d take his food home to him. Again fine, the trials and tribulations of being out with a baby.
Around 7.50pm mains finally arrived and looked absolutely delicious, we don?t mind the wait as it is NYE after all and we could see how busy the staff were. At 8.10pm, whilst we were still eating and drinking the drinks staff took an order for 10 minutes before, an extremely rude waiter came to the table and told us we needed to hurry up and leave as he had tables waiting. Absolutely gobsmacked, we were left speechless. When he returned to the table, I said excuse me but we?re mid meal, can we please finish and then we?ll be out of the way. He said no, I?m bringing the bill now, so we asked for takeaway containers at the very least- he was furious at this request and used expletive language towards myself. The boxes were bought over, along with the bill. We were busy packing the food away when he came over with the card machine - we had not had time to read the bill due to frantically trying to clear up, so asked if we could pay in a sec once we?ve looked at the bill, only to be told we were causing a fuss out of nothing.
We then stood in a packed entrance to try and pay our bill, when the rude waiter spotted us he bought over the card machine and took £70 off our £170 bill- extremely generous, but absolutely not the point. It was NYE, we were happy to pay for the delicious food we were eating and support a local restaurant, what we didn?t want was to be treated so rudely and be forced to finish our dinner at home!
Look, I get it, I?ve worked in busy restaurants on NYE and often the staff are not in charge of how many bookings they?re able to take or the kitchen can be a chef down last minute but the way we were spoken to and treated this evening was appalling. Had someone kindly mentioned the table was needed back or that they were sorry the food was delayed, but the table was still needed fairly quickly, we?d of understood but we were told absolutely none of this.
Largely looks like the restaurant had bitten off more than they could chew on an extremely busy evening, but the response to this was atrocious. I?m aware of the replies negative reviews of this restaurant gets and I would say they?re a perfect reflection of how we were treated in person last night. Book at your own risk!
