We've had a meal from here years ago and it wasn't very good so we never went back, tonight we thought we would give it another go as it's just round the corner from us and was an easy tea.... Thought maybe it was a 1 off as the other reviews say good things. My husband got there on time for when it said, it was sat out on the side so that explains the freezing cold chips, as we are a couple of minutes dive away and there would be no way it would be that cold from the drive, but fair enough chips go cold easy... The burger was shocking! We got the spicy chicken burger with cheese and onion rings, the onion rings were just soggy rings, they were horrible! And been as it's a "fried chicken" shop you would expect it to actually be crispy, it wasn't it was it was the soggiest chicken I've ever had, I'll say it was a good size but the batter was just flopping off it, and the buns were terrible! My buns was hard and you couldn't bite it you had to tear it apart, but my husband's bun was rock solid you couldn't even pull it apart, it was like when you put a frozen bun in the microwave to defrost it but leave it in to long, he ended up having to take the top bun off the burger and eat it with a knife and fork. To be fair I would even say that the chicken burger was probably microwaved because there is no way it would be that soggy if it was freshly fried. It was like one of those microwave rustler burgers you get from Tesco. It also wasn't spicy at all but that's like the least of their problems. Would not recommend and will not be trying again. ?? Don't waste your money, I think this place either needs totally taking over or shut down it's awful.

I?ve ordered the food right before close time and gotta say I wasn?t disappointed, after 5 minutes my chicken burger meal was ready. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken fillet and chips can?t complain honestly

The kebab had a really nice and spicy taste, The chips were seasoned perfectly and the chicken was juicy and was full of flavour. Way better than the KFC chicken. The kebab and chicken were a bit oily but the taste was amazing. The people in there are very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend if you?re looking for something cheap and delicious!!!

Went in for a spicy burger, service was smooth and quick. Was recommended a milkshake and was not disappointed at all. It was nice and thick, just what you need in this weather?

Chicken Lodge has the best food in the whole of northwest, the chicken is cooked to perfection. ? The peri peri is better than any other place. Food is always fresh and piping hot. ?
