We have been looking for a great country pub for a while and found the Hare & Hounds at Mill Brow Marple, lovely pub in a nice countryside setting, the food was excellent, very well presented, the Sunday Lunch is highly recommended, big thanks to the amazing staff who made our first, but definitely not our last visit a memorable experience, thank you all ?

I found this place after searching online and could see it had excellent reviews. We just turned up on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to accommodate our table of 3 and our dog.
The staff were all really lovely here, friendly and welcoming. The decor is very nice and cosy with lots of candles. It's very dog friendly which is great for us. The food was excellent, well presented, good quality and cooked to perfection.
The menu prices are on the expensive side but it seems eating out is expensive these days anyway so we just don't do it as often as we used to sadly. Still we really enjoyed it here, they do a Sunday 3 course offer which we had.
They brought out some complimentary appetisers which was a nice touch.
They have their own car park nearby and there's street parking but it's all a bit small and narrow but we managed no issues. Everyone who served us was polite, pleasant and friendly. I would return here and highly recommend to anyone, especially those looking for somewhere truly dog friendly.
Thank you to all the ladies who looked after us and made it a very pleasant afternoon outing. The staff are a credit to this place and it really does make all the difference.

We visited this lovely country pub on Saturday evening and had the most exceptional dining experience.
The food was outstanding and the dishes were creatively presented.
The staff were polite, friendly and a pleasure to talk to.
There were also a good selection of wines on offer and some fine local ales.
We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Felt very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the cod loin and the piece of fish was that small I nearly missed it on the plate. I am not one for complaining and spoke to the waitress. All I got was I will pass your comment onto the chef!! I am prepared to pay more for a fish course but I want a piece of fish on my plate not just a mouthful !!! Won?t be returning. Overpriced for what you get or in my case don?t get.

What can I say.. if I could give this 100 stars I would. From entrance to the second we left, we were attended to exceptionally tonight (19/06/25) The staff were phenomenal, excellent customer service. Drinks served perfectly, beautiful pint of Madri, my friends enjoyed their soft drinks also. The food was second to none, beautiful appetiser on the house - Broccoli and Rocket soup, beautiful! The salt and pepper beef, to die for! My friends Nan and myself had the belly of pork, I?ve never experienced such soft and tender pork, the sides were beautifully paired, unfortunately I personally don?t eat mushrooms and this was replaced with broccoli which paired excellently. My friend claims the burger to be ?the best he?s ever had? with a few OMG?s thrown in while he ate. I will now be a new regular here bringing, family, friends and partner. I can?t wait until my next visit. Please pass the most sincere compliments to the chef! WELL DONE TO ALL AT THE HARE AND HOUNDS

Absolutely delicious food, fantastic staff and a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend the Hare and Hounds if you are looking for a super menu which uses high quality produce and is perfectly cooked.

What an absolute Gem. I was lucky enough to eat here Friday night .it was the night before my sisters wedding so we were a big table of 15 ish. Jane ( I hope) is legend.. super efficient and very calm and attentive. The food was outstanding. A real pleasure to experience this place.. Thanks Team
