Ever since the refurbishment of Victoria Station there has been one thing missing and that is why I'm really delighted that Whsmith is back in this station to provide an essential service which any train station needs, and is good for passengers, the station and WHsmith alike. This is only a small store near enough next to Java Bar, but inside it just seems really modern and nice, and had a really great, cool feel to it, unlike other WHsmith stores which seem to be old fashioned even in branches across different airports and train stations, including a larger Manchester Piccadilly branch in Manchester's other train station, this branch is nicer. There is a decent range of most items, of course it isn't the place with such a big range, with it not really being needed with it just being in a train station, and the second larges train station in Manchester nonetheless. The staff here seemed nice enough, although they didn't stand out, there was one member of staff working and one single scan it yourself till. There was a decent, albeit small selection of newspapers and there seemed to be a decent selection of everything, including Iced Tea where even my favorite Raspberry flavor was stocked here, which normally is quite hard to source down and seems to be only stocked in certain Tesco, WHsmith and small newsagent stores. There was a coffee machine in here, but this wasn't really needed as there are two coffee shops either side of here, being both next to a Java Bar and a Starbucks and a Mcdonald's really nearby too, this seemed a waste of a small amount of space as it is, especially considering it was only a basic brand and out of order as well. This store just seemed to stand out in a good way due to being a nice store, and modern as mentioned earlier, it would have been nicer for this store to be larger but still it seems to stock all the basics, which is satisfactory and nothing more than that and could be improved and should be improved in the future, but for now I'm pleased to be the "First to review" this branch since 2010, in a period where we have had 3 UK prime ministers, and also the First to review this place since the refurb mentioned above. UPDATE: A decline in the store on all fronts from service to stock to the fact the front-door of the store has been out of bounds for a case of months now, I now sadly feel this store deserves a single one-star rating, this branch now has competition from other similar stores in Victoria Station, hence the location factor no longer wins it anymore, this store no longer has the exclusivity and is rather poor when compared to other WHSmith travel stores as well.

WHSmith in Victoria Station is very small, not at all spacious, but has a good selection of chocolates and crisps. It is located close to Corporation Street entrance and metrolink stop, and never seems to be bursting with visitors...

Book lovers keep walking... Housed within Victoria Station, this WH Smith is a tiny branch that's aimed solely at commuters. The shelves are stocked with magazines, newspapers and a few dozen best-sellers with a small section devoted to over-priced drinks, chocolate and snacks. In short, it's okay for a copy of Uncut or Mojo but not good if you're after a copy of Pride and Prejudice or Crime and Punishment.
