By far the best branch in Manchester, Always helpful and will also go that extra mile to help out.
Not normally the case where every member staff will help you out but the staff in Ancoats are simply the most helpful and friendly out of any Merchant.

I?ve been using Screwfix for years I have a build team with 20+ staff and always buy items and pay via apple pay and my staff collect with no problems at all. I use branches over Manchester / Cheshire. But I?ve had a bad experience with this branch. I think there discriminate against colour and I?ve done some tests to confirm this.
Sent one of my staff in his skin colour is brown complexion and was refused to collect the items of value of £299.87 spoke to them manager on the phone who said it?s policy we ask for card. Well our business is run through Revolut and we use online cards and use apple pay from phones so no fiscal card. So I questioned them saying I?ve never been asked for a card even when buying tools ect the items I had purchased where cheap radiators for a job. So I felt like cause my staff members skin colour was dark he refused. Highlighted it to them and yeah was really awkward and they refused this. Anyway I?ve moved on form this and decided to try collect form another Screwfix local but I?ll personally go in I?m white male British and no questions asked for card. Now this could be this branch not doing there job.
But I?ve seen my times haven?t been refunded and we needed the same items again so I?ve send another staff member in white British to the branch who refused my dark skinned staff member and guess what? No questions asked.
Now i belive in no matter what your skin colour is or where you are from everyone should be treated equal. And with a brand like Screwfix I think that should be demonstrated and rules should in kept for white black brown yellow. I feel really upset that a brand I use and trust to supply my business have handled this in this way and the manager in the phone was very defensive and rude.
I spend around 50 to 100k per year through Screwfix and honestly I?m really put off by the racial encounter we have been through.
Anyway we have reached out to Manchester evening news to promote this encounter to prove no matter how big the corporation is racism still exists in society and I think people who use Screwfix need to learn that if your black or brown Youl
Be treated different if you were white!

Service is so slow there. Waited 4 hours for an online click and collect order to become available. What use is that? Order ahead to save time so I can get on with the job instead had to put my job off till tomorrow as it took so long for a basic transaction.
