Refused sale of cigarettes as a 32 year old that has used said store for several years and sold cigarettes without issue. Explained that all I had was a personal license for sale of alcohol that was issued 10 years ago, to which the Manager replied ?You should know the law?. Condescendingly rude to say the least. 2 stars only because the cashier was lovely.

Quite a small shop with only 3 aisles providing basic major daily needed necessities and fresh groceries.

The staff was really unhelpful. I waited for five minutes to pay for a few items while one of the employees ignored me, focusing instead on assisting the customer in front of me with the self-pay system, which ultimately didn?t work.

I was looking for plasters as my new shoes had caused a big blister on my foot and I was in agony! None were in stock, but a lovely assistant called Sinead took the trouble to get me some plasters from first aid. Kindness is rare and her small act was lovely! Thanks Sinead. You're a star.

A slightly upgraded rating based on the store fixing their pricing structure, prices still seem to cost more compared to larger Sainsbury's stores, but they seem more in line with the other Sainsbury's Local stores nearby now. The product range remains limited but is OK, there is a freshly squeezed orange machine (which always seems to be out of order) and a Costa coffee machine (The older style machine which doesn't support their loyalty app) They have a small range of the Pots and Co desserts which I like, these are slightly more expensive here again at £2.15. The security gate at the checkouts could be designed better to be automated or removed completely as it doesn't seem to be doing anything, you have to push it to get in/out of the store, rather than being automated, it seems to pretty much do nothing other than inconvenience shoppers. 2* - Could've been better, the Sainsbury's locations nearby, both further down Deansgate, on Whitworth Street and Mosley Street are considerably better.
