“I shop here quite often. I find the parking spaces extremely small and too narrow. Very often its difficult to open the door without hitting the car next to you. I have had many dings on my car from this car park and also a bad accident when someone backed into me.”

“So basically went on a short break to Manchester and as you do went for a mooch around town, the Northern Quarter, and low and behold we found this goldmine of a beer shop. When we went in we were courteously greeted by the shop owner and pointed to an array of fridges stocked with beers from all around the world and of different styles to drink in or out, i purchased three imperial stouts to take home, all of a reasonable price. If it's takeouts you want this is the place to go.”

“M&S food is just like the adverts and some say its costly when actually you get really good deals and prices similar to sainsburys and Tescos. Some may think it's sheer snobbery but you will be surprised at how cheap some items are. Staff are always very friendly and polite. It's all self service checkout but staff are always on hand. If you are a tech geek you can download the app and shop as you go and then walk out. Could call is posh shop lifting or feel like a scouser ( I am one! ) but still leave without paying but you have paid. If that makes sense. It is 0630! It's also open late which is a bonus especially on a Sunday.”

“No prices on any of the off-licence products. The guy was getting annoyed with me because I was asking how much larger packs of beer cost. I only just moved to the area and found them not very customer friendly, and every time I have been in the shop, they are talking on the phone. Website said promotion packs of 10x cans Carlsberg Export £10 or two packs £16 but the shop said they didn't do the promotion. Reluctantly went in again a few weeks later as I really fancied some Thatchers cider on ice. Checked on line for the Price and found again the product on promotion, went to the shop and told yet again "we don't do the promotion" Busy(ish) small shop, nobody wearing face masks, nobody told to wear a mask. No hand sanitation on entry. Not a good business. *UP DATE* after living in the area for some months, discovered that the shop, staff and owners, very friendly, nice people.”

“Love this place, the staff don’t bug you, just a friendly greeting at the door when you enter. Everytime I come by Manchester I make it a point to stop and check what they have to offer, as well as have a nice chat.If you know what you are looking for, keep an open but confident mind, and they will sort you out. Be sure to communicate what you’re looking for!”

“It's a small shop, cramped in places but the staff are friendly and helpful - I still prefer the big out of town tesco's but wanted to leave a review purely due to the staff being nice people.”

“Marks and Spencer Simply Food at Manchester Fort is a rather large location, considering this is just an M&S Simply Food location, it features a nice selection of groceries as well as additional facilities including toilets and a Cafe. Due to being in a retail park, there's plenty of free parking right outside the store, which is a benefit compared to their larger store in Manchester city centre, which only has paid parking. The store was tidy and easy to follow, and had a good selection of products, while the store may not have had as extensive a selection (and eco-credentials) as the Manchester Market Street store nearby, it makes a good alternative in the Cheetham Hill area. The staff seemed friendly enough and happy to help. 4*”

“The slightly larger of the two convenience shops on Hathersage Road, Medlock marks union of Day-Today (specialising is news and groceries) and Paper-Net (specialising in greetings cards and grandiose sounding 'exclusive gifts') in what was surely the biggest merger since Google bought YouTube. Now the shop offers all the unique benefits of the two stores in one slightly wider shop. Want to buy an silver wedding anniversary card and a carton of pineapple juice? You got it. Need a copy of Take-a-Break and a CD of disco cover versions? Absolutely. The magazine and news section is impressively extensive and the range of chocolate is to be commended (they have Riesen: the chocolate chew.) Biscuits are very much Medlock's forte though. If you lay two men end to end you would still not quite have measured out the length of Medlock's biscuit aisle (unless they were quite tall, then you might have overshot it.) Cookies, malted milks, bourbons even my beloved chocolate Hob Nobs are all available here. There is also a newly installed selection of budget spirits (featuring student favourite, 'Glen's: the exciting vodka!') They also sell bread and milk, but it's the biscuits and vodka that is the real winning combination here.”

“I have searched manchester city centre supermarkets for egg custard tarts, and they were not to be seen! By chance call in M & S at Piccadilly Station and there they were in all thier golden yummy glory. Well done M & S for keeping these in stock.... At least I know where to go to get them now. Were they good,? Oh yes, just what I had been looking for. Staff were exceptional.”
