I love this store, especially the bakery section. One thing I've noticed though, is that fruit flies have been getting at the baked good.
Also, they used to have things freshly baked but now it seems they're baked enmasse and stored in a fridge, which affects the quality of the items. They're still nice, but sometimes I hear them up at home to get that freshly baked taste.
They have a good range of produce, especially the fresh fruit , veg and meat.
Excellent app too, enjoy getting the chance to win freebies!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour in store threw my partners bread on another till because the divide hadn't been put down and was told get out of my shop I'm not serving you and then called security over yo make him leave,the man whoever it was working tonight 12-08 has no customer service at all I won't be returning to this store,also this deserves no stars but wouldn't let do it

Feedback on Receipt Policy and Customer Experience.
I would like to offer some feedback based on my visit to one of your stores today,
After completing my shopping and paying electronically, I chose not to take the printed receipt due to personal health concerns. As you may know, many receipts are printed on thermal paper that can contain chemicals such as BPA, which I prefer to avoid handling. To keep a record, I took a clear photo of the receipt immediately after payment.
When I approached the exit, the small gate required scanning the paper receipt. I politely explained to a staff member that I had the receipt digitally on my phone and shared my reason for not physically taking it. Despite this, I was told I must take the paper receipt or I would not be allowed to leave. Another staff member became involved and insisted I follow the rule, even though I showed valid proof of purchase.
Eventually, a security guard approached and allowed me to show the receipt on my phone. However, the original staff member insisted again that I take the printed receipt and go through a specific exit gate, making the situation unnecessarily stressful. While I understand policies exist to prevent theft, I felt the approach lacked flexibility and basic respect for a customer who was simply being mindful of health and still followed proper procedure.
I?m not writing this to complain or demand anything I just hope this feedback helps improve customer service and staff training. A little kindness and flexibility could make a big difference, especially for customers with valid concerns.
I believe Lidl can be a leader in offering both safety and compassion. Allowing digital receipts to be scanned or giving staff the discretion to assist customers in situations like mine would be a great step forward.
