First of all. No wifi! Asked staff but response was oh we?re having trouble with it. Yep. IT DOESNT WORK! They couldn?t care less. Short on time so ordered a steak ciabatta.
Came out with meal per pic. Frozen tasteless chips of course. Meat a bit chewy ciabatta soggy. Place virtually empty whilst other places nearby packed. Wonder why. Could do a lot better imho.

They don't stock gluten free beer. It would be easy to do this.

I regularly bring my elderly uncle to the Horse and Jockey, whenever I visit him. It was his regular pub when he was younger many years ago and always his favourite place to visit.
The service is usually friendly and the food tastey, I really don?t know what happened today. Our food was unappetising, and poorly cooked. My husband?s focaccia contained a tiny amount of v dry chicken. My uncle?s pie was stodgy and my bulgur wheat salad was served hot and tasted past its best.
When the server cleared our table and the plates of food were barely touched, we weren?t asked how our meal had been.
He enjoyed his pints and it?s always lovely to sit outside in chorlton green. Hopefully just an off day.

Forgot to take pic of the food because it looked so good, couldn't wait to dive in, had the Stilton chicken, partner had the fish and chips, absolutely delicious! Staff are lovely, very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend.

This lovely little pub on Chorlton Green has its own Bootleg Microbrewery in the base of the pub?s original tower brewery. Outside, there's plenty of seating, but you can be hard pushed to find a seat outside on the weekend if the sun's out. We've miserably walked past many a sunny Saturday afternoon, searching for a non-existent, empty table.
It isn't hard to see why ... there's an abundance of beautifully kept flowers on the terrace, and along with the friendly & respectful manner of other customers and quaint little leafy green for a view, it definitely has a minibreak village postcard vibe about it. Heated, canopied tables enable you to enjoy the outdoors in the evening or cooler weather, while inside there?s plenty of seating, a big bar, friendly staff, a snug, and a tap room.
We haven't eaten here yet but scanned the menu, and there are loads of choices to cater to every palate. Vegans are well looked after & prices are quite reasonable.
The Horse and Jockey is over 500 years old & has been a pub for 200 of those, with a wide range of ales, craft beers & lagers, wines & spirits.
100% recommended ??

Spotted this pub whilst on a brief walk around Chorlton and thought I would give it a try.
Wasn't disappointed. The perfect pub for sitting outside on long warm nights. The cask ale is first class, crystal clear pint of Joseph Holt's bitter. So good I had to try 3.
If you're in the area, this pub is at the bottom of Whitelow Road. About 10 mins from the tram stop. Not to be looked over!

Our favourite spot for a drink after a walk on the river, a great Holt pub. Service is always exceptional with barely any wait at the bar - good beer and guest beer choices, nice wines. We had roast dinners today and they were beautifully cooked, great portion sizes and extra gravy given with no bother! We come most Sundays for a drink and will definitely come for dinner again!
