yesterday on thursday 28th august around 6?6:30pm i was served by a staff member called seam and i have never been treated so rudely in a store in my life.
all i did was politely ask about using my student discount. instead of explaining the policy properly, seam rolled his eyes, waved his hands dismissively in my face and at my phone, huffed and puffed, and spoke to me with pure attitude. when i said that i had used unidays in this store before, he shockingly went as far as to say ?say wallah? to me ? a sacred promise word in Islam.
that was not only unbelievably disrespectful and offensive, but also racist and discriminatory. why is a staff member stereotyping me based on my religion and background, mocking my culture, and using my faith as a joke? this behaviour is deeply inappropriate and completely unacceptable in a workplace.
another staff member eventually explained the new policy requiring a physical student ID, which i fully accepted. the issue is not the policy ? it is seam?s vile behaviour, lack of professionalism, and racist undertones. even when i calmly told him he was being rude, he carried on rolling his eyes and treating me like i was the problem.
when i asked to speak to the manager, i received nothing more than a dismissive ?i will talk to him.? no apology. no accountability.
i left the store feeling humiliated, stereotyped, and targeted because of who i am. this experience was not just poor customer service ? it was discriminatory and offensive. seam should not be allowed to treat customers this way, and holland & barrett seriously need to retrain their staff on both customer service and cultural sensitivity.
this was one of the most unprofessional, hurtful, and racist experiences i have ever had in a shop. i will never return.

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful service I received at your Holland & Barrett store, 105 Market Street, Manchester (M1 1NN) on 22/08/2025 at 14:47, till:103.
First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the company itself for its valuable products, which truly deserve to be purchased regardless of the price. The consistent policy of quality, evident in every detail?from the product itself to the customer service?reflects a high standard that is greatly appreciated.
The cashier, Yuliia, stood out with her beautiful smile, kind spirit, and respectful manner. For people like her, who carry such genuine elegance of soul, I believe they deserve to find doors opening for their future in a way that matches their inner grace. Her warm attitude reflected a beautiful personality, and truly deserves recognition.
Appreciation always finds its way to those who hold beauty in their hearts. In workplaces governed by rules and systems, it is only when actions are carried out with sincerity, respect, and a genuine smile that they become memorable.
As an architect who values the essence of humanity and meaningful actions, I sincerely admire the way she demonstrated love for her work through her authentic and kind character. She truly deserves a bright and beautiful future ahead.

I went to H&B today and had a great experience. The store was nice and cool, making shopping comfortable. The staff were very friendly and polite, and they answered all my questions patiently. Definitely a pleasant place to shop!

Came in this afternoon, treated with disrespect as I only came for a few things but my whole experience made me feel like a criminal which is not how I expect to feel afte I've just finished work. When I arrived the shop keeping watching the self checkout greeted me with a smug look and the security guard basically followed me around up until I paid. This feeling doesn't make me feel like I want to come back or recommend people as I didn't feel like I was even welcome in the store and this happened just as I'd stepped in. Please do better or speak with your staff about how to treat customers I do not feel great right now and the whole thing left me feeling uncomfortable

I understand all the very low reviews. Unhelpful, outdated, dirty, dusty, expired and the employees and managers clearly don?t want to work there, but I presume this is another brand that will close its doors forever soon.

The store is clean and inviting. However, on many occasions on visiting the store the staff follow you and make you feel very uncomfortable. Seriously, it needs to stop.

None of the stuff I have purchased from Holland and Barrett work, very expensive products with no effect, yet other brands are way more effective. Also the staff give bad advice and seem to know nothing about the products that are being sold

The products are quality and we buy there. But, now nobody on the tills and you have to work to scan the products like in Lidl? Can't believe Holland & Barret now got involved in this 'fashion'... So poor.
