I came into this branch on Monday with my dying grandfather and auntie regarding my grandfather closing one of his accounts and a withdrawal. We was served by an older lady called Smitha. Her energetic was very off as she questioned why he wanted to close his account and she told us the bank needed 48 hours as it was a large withdrawal. We returned with my sick grandfather in a wheelchair on Wednesday and was met again by Smitha. I work myself in customer facing finance and for front of house her attitude is despicable. We told her we were back to do the withdrawal and close the account, again she was very unfriendly after doing her checks she looked at me and said ?go over to the counter good luck with all that money? I replied by saying ?good luck? It?s not for me he?s dying it?s for him so I don?t think good luck was warranted comment to make!? Which she smirked and I went to a counter and was met by Gemma. Gemma at first told us they would need 48 hours as they don?t have that much cash, I explained this was told to us on Monday hence our return on Wednesday. My grandfather is 90 odd and very sick physically but not mentally- he couldn?t hear anything she was saying in the booth as he was in a wheelchair so low down, I asked to go into a private room but was told none were available although all of them were vacant. There was a lack of empathy here. On completing the business transaction Gemma seemed to add some warmth as she recognised my grandfather and wished him well however the whole experience left me feeling like a fraud and my grandad frustrated. Brithas comments and attitudes I feel should be addressed as families going through an already difficult time do not need to be made to feel like nuisances when arranging funerals. Extremely unprofessional individual, I feel sorry for any other families in our position that have the unpleasure of having to do business with her.

My mum received a new bank card and tried to activate it. Didn?t work. They then ordered a new pin. Didn?t work. They then ordered a new pin again. Didn?t work. They then ordered a new card and pin. We?ve not tried it yet as only just received it but I don?t have any faith in it working. The guy i. there kept trying to get my 75 year old mother to set up online banking when she does nt use computers and she was getting so stressed. He then asked me to set up an account for her but I refused . They?re not very understanding that not everyone is computer savvy

How hard is it to set a savings account up for my granddaughter 4 times now and still not able to sort one out after they said I could do it online then in the bank and still no joy ..come on Halifax wahts going on

We have been banking with the Halifax haletop branch, Wythenshawe now more than 20 years and our experience so far with the customer service was good. Today, with great regret I have to say that I had to deal with a rude inexperienced staff, I reckon she wrote the name on a card as SMITHA, as she was not wearing a name badge and I had to ask her name. Me and my wife went to make an international transfer from our account but she asked us to produce our passport or driving license. I had to go home to bring it and then she started all rubbish questions. Where the money going, where it comes from. I said all informations about the recipient is written in the paper and you only have to do the transfer. But after almost half hour, she said I had to pay 25 pounds if it's above 100000 pounds. This information was not at all stated in anywhere and before going to the branch I spoke over the phone and nothing mentioned. She put us, a loyal custome who is with bank for more than 20 years, into a he'll with many unnecessary questions. I asked her to speak to the Manager and she said no need. Thanks God, finally I got the job done. Bank authorities shouldn't put these sort of staff who ar not friendly at the front desk. Let them go and sit in some bunker., please.

Banks are not what they used to be now it's all digital one doesn't know what to do too much of a rush to move into new Technologies forgetting about the customers that I've been here for years and years so if you don't understand technology adequate enough you have always got the problem of doubt
