Food is really not nice at all. Place needs a good clean too, dust everywhere which is very off putting.

Don?t listen to any of the 5 star reviews or you?ll be very disappointed. The food was ok but uninspiring, it was fairly priced and the waiter was very nice but the positives end there. It?s quite a dated restaurant and 1/4 of the tables were covered in food stocks, catering equipment and supplies making it feel a bit ramshackle. The menu is quite limited and the pancakes do have an odd texture but I?ve never eaten Ethiopian food before so I don?t know if it?s authentic.
The decor and limited menu could be overlooked if the food tasted better but the biggest disappointment was the preparation of the pancakes on the tables in the restaurant of which a few were dropped on the floor (I didn?t see them served) and subsequently I saw a mouse run from the kitchen into the restaurant where the pancakes were prepared and bear in mind this place is upstairs.

Good food and good service. The menu is somewhat limited.

Perfect place to try a new cuisine not easily available. The food is delicious containing flavours you won?t get in any other cuisine. It is served in a traditional steel utensil. Limited options on the menu is actually good as one doesnt fret too much about what to order. The ambience might be a little bit relaxed but take nothing away from the food

Good food, but we are used to default veggies and beans on our plate so it was a surprise to only get the meat and sauce.
* RECCOMENDATION - order one veggie and one meat dish for the variety of flavours*
Place was a bit dirty and there was mess everywhere but the service and food made up for that.

The staff (the one man who served us) were really friendly. The food was exceptional. Quiet, pretty hidden, this place is amazing.

Unique flavours. I had never tried Ijeera bread before. A slightly sour fermented Uber large pancake on which you scoop the bowl of food ( in my case spicy lamb). You then tear off pieces of the bread and eat with your hand. Friendly staff in the family run restaurant ( a rarity now). Give it a go if you want to try something different. I will be back for either the chicken or veggie options.

Nice difference to alot of the other food on offer in Manchester. Thought the veggie options were very good aswell.
Very friendly staff who clearly care about the food they serve and what it means.

Do not let the vacant kebab shop and odd stairwell you must traverse to reach the restaurant upstairs stop you!! The food and service were great. My only complaint is the heat inside but the good prices and value for money make up for this.

First time trying Ethiopian food and it was delicious. We tried one beef, one chicken, one lamb and one veggie dish - all very tasty but the shiro was my favourite! Restaurant was quiet on an early Saturday evening in January. Definitely recommend.

Scrumptious Ethiopian in an unassuming location just off Canal Street! I had the doro wat and it was absolutely delicious - tender chicken and a nice kick to it! Lovely staff and lovely decor, and very reasonably priced!
