I got an eye scan I didn't know existed and which reassured me I didn't have some age related problems I was slightly expected to get. Plus he didn't try too hard to sell me anything notably not bifocals which I don't want.”

“I wore glasses from age 3 and then contact lenses for the last 50 years. I had been told years ago that I would need lens replacement rather than laser treatment and this put me off having the procedure. I decided to have a consultation at the Preston branch in mid October and the staff talked me through the process and reassured me. Having worn gas permeable lenses for such a long time I had to leave them out for 28 days prior to the operation to allow the corneas to return to their original shape. This was the biggest hurdle for me but I was provided with soft lenses which I could wear until 10 days before my operation. I had my lens replacement on 17th November at Bridgewater Clinic in Manchester. The staff were brilliant and looked after me through every step of the procedure. The operation was painless and very quick, the theatre staff were wonderful and the music was a good distraction.The following morning I had my follow-up tests in Preston and was cleared to drive. I haven't had any problems or after effects and I should have had it done years ago. I'm still at the stage where I reach out for my glasses when I wake up in the morning and then I realise I don't need them. Thank you to all the staff members at Preston and The Bridgewater Clinic.”

“I have used specsavers for the past 20 years and hated it. I recently moved to tyldesley and found D G optical so thought I'd give it a try so I didn't have to travel to specsavers at Leigh. I'm so glad I did! I was in and out within half an hour and that includes my eye test and choosing a new pair of glasses. They were great! So friendly and helpful. The optician also talked me through everything he was doing and explained how all the equipment worked. It was great to understand it all. I will never use another opticians again! “I have visited this branch of Specsavers a number of times and always been happy with the service, support and glasses choices etc, unfortunately on this occasion, the glasses I chose were not suitable (too much glare on the inside of the glasses), I didn’t need to worry as I returned to the store a week after collecting and was supported by Janet (The dispensing manager). Janet had returned to the store with her lunch which she abandoned to help me.
Janet explained that Specsavers offered a no quibble 100 day returns service and advised the options available to me and as a result, I have a replacement pair arriving in two weeks.
Janet is one of my favourite members of the team, very knowledgeable and supportive.”

“I called into Boots to discuss a problem with blurred vision. Justine made me an appointment on the day that I requested and greeted me when I returned for my eye test. She was kind & friendly & explained all the tests in detail, making sure that I understood all the information given. She remembered me from a previous appointment and asked about my mother who had been with me. Tony also remembered me with a cheery, 'Hello,' and he asked about the books that I write. There was a slight delay but Justine apologised & kept me informed. The optician was very efficient & she explained all my results clearly. I am always made to feel welcome & the staff go out of their way to be pleasant & helpful. The lady who processed the paperwork for my new glasses was polite & helpful too.”
