Awesome hotel. The staff was amazing. The food was great and the location was perfect! Steps away from the mall, the movie theatre and everything else you could want or need.

Had a really lovely stay at this hotel recently where we were well looked after by all of the staff at hotel. Before we even arrived I had an email saying we were being upgraded (I am an IHG diamond elite member) so on arrival we were allocated a lounge access room on the 8th floor, unfortunately our room had an adjoining door which we have had problems with in the past. A quick call down to Iona on reception and she said she would see if anything else was available, luckily there was one available also on the 8th floor so Iona came up to check we were ok with it which we were.At six o'clock we headed down to the club lounge for a drink and snacks. There were no alcoholic drinks out just coffee, water, soft drinks, crisps and some fruit, we were served drinks and canapes by a really friendly lady. She was very efficient serving drinks when we needed but no more canapes were forthcoming but probably would have been had we asked.I find it strange that all Crowne Plazas operate their lounges in different ways, for example in the Liverpool one the fridge is stocked with beer and wine and also bottles of spirits left out for you to help yourself. Hot snacks are also laid out which include chicken skewers, spring rolls and samosas etc, a member of staff will come in after a while to top up the hot snacks but otherwise you are left to it. I understand this could cause problems with people taking bottles of wine or spirits out of the lounge (my colleague witnessed some guests come in collect 4 glasses a bottle of vodka and a bottle of gin and walk out!)Maybe a combination of the two systems with drinks left out but staff inside to make sure no one abuses this perk. The room was nice with a couple of small issues, the first being only one side of the bed had plug sockets for chargers and the shower was very small but maybe this was because there was a bath as well.Breakfast was very good and all the staff were very friendly. The hotel has no car park but we were directed to the APCOA multi storey opposite, car park was only 2 minute walk, spaces are a good size and cost £18 per 24 hrs if validated via the hotel. On departure after getting to the car I thought I had left my phone in the room so went back and reception staff gave me a new key card, I could'nt find my phone but one of the housekeeping staff let me use his mobile to phone my husband then my phone to try to locate it.... yes it was in the car!If returning to Manchester will definitely stay here again as it is really well situated in the city centre near to shops and live venues, also all of the staff we encountered were a credit to the hotel.

Stayed here last Saturday night.Altough the reception staff were very helpful, the hotel was a bit drab. I thought breakfast was included but was told no. That was ok and I accepted that. While sitting having my breakfast, a waitress came over to me with a card machine to pay. I certainly wasn't going to leave without paying. Was not impressed at all. Don't think I will be back.

The service provided by this hotel has been exceptional. From the get go I felt valued as a customer, I had a issue with the toilet in my first room - when raised with the front of house team they were apologetic and provided me with a new room that was of high standard. Huge thanks to the front of house team member and guest relations manager on the Monday early afternoon shift who helped with this, apologies I forgot your names!During my stay myself and my partner would visit the club lounge both evenings of our stay for a couple of drinks after our meal in the city centre. I must say Christine was superb! She was really nice, friendly and approachable - went out her way to build a rapport and made us feel looked after! She even remembered our drinks from the previous evening! This is our second visit at this hotel now and will definitely not be our last!

Great location, few minutes from Victoria Station and Arndale Centre, only 5 to 10 minutes from AO Arena. Hotel and room modern and clean, breakfast cooked and continental excellent selection. Only slight downside room outside wall is all glass so don't think there was a window you could open, we were woken a couple times by sirens so maybe not the most soundproofed but most hotels you find this. Staff very friendly and efficient.Nearby activities: Arndale shopping Centre, AO Arena

Beware of 8th floor Executive Club Rooms. I was in 814.The lighting was extremely bad. Room way too dark for comfort. Desk light was not sufficient for a small "office space".Aesthetic sloping of wall behind the bed caused me to bump my head many times and I'm only a mere 5'7".Shower recess so small that I had difficulty turning around without bumping shoulder, arm and elbow. On good side, bed was very comfortable. On previous visits, I had none of these problems.REPLY TO Jonathan King's "reply".Jonathan, Jonathan, Jonathan,Your reply was ALL very standard "cut and paste".Did I miss the apology for the dark and dingy room?and the tiny shower recess?or even that I bumped my head on your aesthetic sloping walls? NO. There was no apology. It seems you didn't really care about my discomfort. Instead, you made a big deal that I said the bed was comfortable. The Holiday Inn Express next door, is really looking very inviting to me on my next visit to Manchester.Your extremely disgruntled Platinum Elite Member,Michael

Pleasant hotel, very ideally located close to the main train station. Nice bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Could do with more lifts as waited a few times to get a lift. Quite modern.

We were so shocked to see the state of the hotel and the room. There were many stains on the old dirty carpet inside the room, and a lot of the furniture was chipped and in terrible condition. The desk chair was extremely dirty. The lamp made buzzing sounds. The water temperature kept fluctuating from hot to cold. Even the toilet flush seemed defective and would get stuck. The hallways between rooms looked like a horror house. There were large stains all over the carpet, and the room doors looked so dated, scratched or just plain dirty.Moving on to the lobby, the chairs are ripped and in terrible condition. They have black stains on them, and many have ripped cloth all over the arms. This was my first time at a Crowne plaza and will likely be my last time. That's what I have associated Crowne plaza with, and it's such a bad image.I honestly could not believe that this was a 4 star hotel, by what I thought was a respectable hotel chain.

First time I?ve stayed here in many years and found it hadn?t changed much but in some respects needed to Start with the areas to improve Took an age to check in, no IHG Rewards check in desk and just two reception points Club floor room but it wasn?t in very good condition - charging hub that didn?t work l, sockets that are some way from the bed wasn?t ideal when the hub didn?t work, a very shallow sink which didn?t run away and meant I had to keep turning it off and on to stop it over flowing. A corner shower cabinet which was tiny and almost impossible to use unless your really slim, plus it soaked the floor every time the shower was turned on Good parts Location - 5 mins walk from Victoria station, across the road from a bus station and within a couple of minutes walk from bars, restaurants, shops Bed was comfortable Very big tv with a decent selection of channels Club lounge I only used for breakfast and was pretty good but it was quite small and looked to be busy from the outside in the evenings so you might struggle to get in Receptionist on check out offered extra IHG points because of the issues in the room but then didn?t bother to add them on which isn?t ideal
