“Fantastic charity shop - some great bargains especially in the clothing sections. Actually feels more like a 'modern' vintage shop with a selection of all sorts with a big donation centre in the back.”

“Very nice community centre with a real charm of its own. My experience with the staff were 50/50 some were quite helpful and nice and others were just rude and stern. I didn't visit a lot but I'm sure there's a lot to do here as indicated by the signs.”

“Is this a joke??I bought a large furniture item from them and on the day of the delivery they called me and said they lost the item! How incompetent do you have to be to let something like that happen???They refused to compensate for the inconvenience either!Disgusting in every wayUpdate: they found it so I’ll add some stars”
“Unless you're off to the jobcentreplus next door, there is little reason why you would walk past this little charity shop located in Chorlton Place - the eyesore of a shopping centre some people want to knock down to build a supermarket and others want to preserve due to the independent shops it houses. The Red Cross shop is, however, worth a look, and is much better-stocked than the other Red Cross shop on Wilbraham Road, where they stock odd furniture items and the odd vinyl record. This shop is packed to the brim with clothes and books, and there are always bargains to be had - the cheapest items are often displayed outside the shop. I don't like the thought of paying over the odds for a greetings card, which is essentially a piece of card. I do make an exception when I buy them from charity shops and this one has a good selection (especially for old people). I went into this shop on Halloween and heard somebody asking if they had any wedding dresses which they could use as a costume. The friendly Red Cross lady said that they were out of wedding dresses but went out the back to check if they had any suitable bridesmaids dresses. You wouldn't even get that level of customer service in most high street shops!”
“A favourite of mine due to the quality items, fab layout, cleanliness , attention to detail on the small but important stuff - like hyper-friendly staff who thank you for giving items. I'm a regular visitor for all of these reasons & paramount I guess is the charity's aim - to research solutions to reduce & eradicate a killer disease that seems to be on the rise. Love this charity shop!”

“I have recently taken a position with CRG Homecare at Brunswick village extra care scheme which is a state of the art 60 apartment purpose built scheme for over 55’s one of the greatest facilities in the scheme is a lovely bistro ran by age Uk Manchester, where residents can order hot freshly cooked food which can be delivered directly to apartments. Staff are very friendly, always have a smile, chat and a warm welcome. It’s amazing to have the opportunity to have a fresh cooked meal whilst in work.”
“The most caring charity out there for helping Manchester's poor. More money should be given to Wood Street Mission for all the good things they do to cloth and feed poor families!!The volunteers keep the charity running and are good people going out helping others.”
