This is a bit of hidden gem: above the station, but not quite in the same space as the lifts, so have a little wander around to find it. Much nicer space than other cafes pre-checkin, and certainly much better than waiting on the station platform. Coffee is good, seem to play interesting music, the books on the shelves can be read while you wait; doesn't really feel like you're in an airport at all. Prices are what you'd expect for an airport, and I always find Nero coffee to be on the strong side, but nothing is perfect I guess.

I have lived in the UK for 8 years and the first time I experienced rude service was at the Nero cafe in Manchester airport above the train station. The service is just as nasty as in Eastern Europe. I won't go there anymore.
