“A really nice Waterstones book shop with a good selection of genres and titles. This is a really pleasant spot to spend some time browsing and the prices are really reasonable.”

“I can't resist buying at least 1 book every time I go in Waterstones. Very well set out and feels spacious. The staff are always helpful, polite and friendly. They helped my daughter explore different types of books as she doesn't like books too girly or too boyish, any with horror in or factual. The gentleman was able to suggest a variety of books and says he's read them too.”

“Fantastic charity shop - some great bargains especially in the clothing sections. Actually feels more like a 'modern' vintage shop with a selection of all sorts with a big donation centre in the back.”

“I bought some rings in here and accidently left one behind, I then went into another shop and came out about 15 minutes later, the woman who served me then found me in the street and returned it to me about 30 minutes after I bought it, I was very grateful as I hadn't realised I'd left it behind. Very friendly and dedicated staff members.”

“Is your house missing a few plates and mugs? Eggcups? A gravy boat? A Toby Jug? Then get yourself down to the University campus branch of Oxfam. They stock books here (the section for which has been excellently reshuffled of late) second hand clothes (including a rack of recycled creations by local fashion heroes 'Me4U') and cheap photocopying (definitely come here rather than the John Rylands Library) but what they do best is crockery and kitchenware. I got a set of lovely shot glasses with yachts handpainted on them from here not long ago and last time I visited they had an awesome earthenware pourer, a deco-ish cut glass vase and some austere eastern bloc-style enamel cups and bowls all priced for a few pounds. Before you try Ikea, Habitat or even the basement of Pop Boutique looking for individual looking kitchenware give Oxfam a go.”

“this is one of the cutest thrift stores I have been in and I love the fact that they had a whole bookstore on the other side separated between the clothes and HomeGoods, 10/10”

“Darlington Store - I have been collecting mystery sylvanian bags from the works and a lovely member of staff ( whose name I didn’t get annoyingly!- lady with blonde hair Saturday 24th May ) had noticed I’d been coming in often came and sat with me and had a chat and went through all of the ones I had and didn’t have and what I wanted we chatted for ages and I opened my one I bought with her and got the one I wanted! This totally made my day I wish I got her name but if you read this thank you so much! I’m sure we will cross paths again soon when I come in for more sylvanians lol!!”

“Traveled Boxing Day 2024 was looking for a book which I couldn’t find so asked a lovely lady who worked there if the book I was looking for was in the store
She went above and beyond to find for me it wasn’t in stock but I come away with another book she recommended which was how not to be strong
I just want to say wish I would of known the lady’s name what a credit and amazing staff member she is thanks so much to her and the book was amazing Thankyou
Manchester Airport may get some rubbish reviews but this lady at wh smith’s is a credit to them one happy customer”

“Lovely woman called Elle helped me and my kids understand the card selection as the price on card was wrong so her customer service was amazing and ever helpful and friendly but WHSmith your self need look what your selling the card say 7.99 on back of them but yet not the right price there a lot lower so it a negative and made me second guess if I should but thankfully Elle saved the day”
