Went into the BHF store in Hyde today. Couldn?t be any more of a mortifying experience if I?m honest. I told the man at the front of the store that I was exempt from mask wearing due to a hidden disability and whether it would be fine for me to enter the store with a friend who was wearing a face mask. He let me in no problem. About 2 minutes in from walking in the store, another employee asked me to leave. I kindly reminded her that I have a hidden disability, I didn?t bring a hidden disabilities (sunflower) lanyard with me as i was not expecting to go into town that day (a friend pressured me into going, I told as I was only going to have a picnic in the park. Not a related story but that?s the reason why I didn?t take proof with me). Anyway, I had a legal exemption and the employees at this store didn?t take that into consideration. Avoid this place like the plague if you have a hidden disability, they don?t care about your legal exemptions from mask wearing even though they let a young maskless child in regardless.

One female staff member spoils the shop for the rest of the staff, she is aggressive and confrontational . Her approach to using Hand Gel is rude, even after pointing out to her that it is actually not compulsory to use it, just a recommendation. I have also witnessed her asking someone to leave the shop for not wearing a mask with an exempt. The staff need training on the legal guidelines and not bully customers who are supporting this charity.

Brilliant shop, I tend to find the most clothes at this charity shop out of all the shops in Hyde. Prices are decent with many items reduced further. Staff are lovely. Good selection of toys and games usually.
