Lovely location to have a drink in the sun, but that?s about all it?s got going for it. The smell inside is almost unbearable, like sour cheese mixed with pickled onion. The toilets are very dark and the lock on the accessible toilet is very difficult to use - making it inaccessible. Also quite expensive, 1.5 pints for £9.60.

Lovely place went for a works do. Ordered Christmas dinner from the set menu I didn't enjoy it but the starter and desert were lovely. Drinks were great too and didn't have to wait to be served. I will visit again ?

Sat 7th December 2024 . . . table for 4
Went to the Waterside as a group of 4
Arrived 30 mins early before our reservation time so had drinks in the bar
Table was ready on tine at 8,45pm
Service was prompt and quick
We ordered four different main courses and each person agreed the food was really good
My only negative of the evening was table 14 where we were sat. It is positioned in a passageway and squashed in. Continuous disturbance of people going to the toilet and staff members gping between the kitchen and tables
This table needs removing or at least make it a 2 person table to allow more space

I had very mixed feelings about going out for lunch on Christmas Day at a set time sitting but I have to say the meal was good, the atmosphere was festive and the service was very smooth. The staff were really lovely. Well done to all the staff.

We chose The Waterside for a family occasion. Staff were super friendly, service was beyond excellent, the food was great and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.

We come here quite often for family meals out as there are so many vegan options which are gorgeous, even in the busiest of times the food is always incredible as is the service. The children's menu doesn't offer a vegan option however the staff are always very accommodating to sort an alternative meal for our little one. Live music over the weekend a great atmosphere!

Had a meal here after having our kids christened and because there was quite a lot of us we had our own private room with no extra charge which I thought was lovely! The service the food everything was brilliant we were all so impressed! The Sunday roast was especially really good all fresh and cooked really well! The food came out really quickly considering there was nearly 20 of us! really enjoyed it and nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommend

Never stayed in the hotel but the food is great , good vibes and dog friendly. The Sunday roasts are great and good value for money. Nice little beer garden in the heart of Monton.

Walkability: Just off main road so close to the bus stop and you can walk down from the canal
