Food amazing, could not eat all the mushroom starter big portions needed to leave room for the main, again the main was a big portion, had garlic bread with the main absolutely amazing.

Took My Son Riley we loved it! The starters were very nice and we both had the duck tagliatelle it was amazing.
Finished off with a great dessert. Service was very good and the place had a good vibe. Well done chefs and staff ??

On arrival I was offered a drink straight away, I was with my mum sister and longtime family friend,
Due to my taxi being delayed I was slightly late but the other guests were already sat down with a drink.
We waited a good 15 mins to be served food but that was because we were talking.
Anyway we managed to get a waiter to take our order, we all chose the same starter of Garlic mushrooms.
Meals ordered were carbonara ( sister ) meatballs ( friend) chicken tagliatelle ( mum) myself pollo chicken alla creme with potatoes and veg.
My meal arrived and my potatoes were sprouting, I thought I'll just cut the ends off they will be fine.
I then ate a bit of broccoli and a carrot, I then cut into my chicken which was smothered in the creamy mushroom sauce,
It was quite chewy and just didn't taste right, I called over a waitress and told her my meal didn't taste right the chicken was. Chewy and had a funny taste.
She offered me another meal but by this point I was put off I didn't fancy anything else. She took it away and it was removed from the bill.
In the early hours of the morning 1am I woke with stomach cramps so I got up and went to the loo.
It was then I started with Dioreah.
Only a few minutes later I started to feel really unwell and I had to grab the bin this was the closest thing to me for me to then vomit it just came out of nowhere, I was in the bathroom for a good 45 mins.
I can only put this down to the meal I had and I'm just glad I didn't eat it all, I only had one mouth full of the chicken and a price of potato and veg.
This has put me off completely.
I had been out the week previous with friends for an Italian meal in Manchester and enjoyed my meal so much ( the same pollo ala creme)that I decided to have it at Giovanni's as I really enjoyed it.
I won't be returning to Giovanni's again. Did it spoil my evening no not really as the company I was with was great we laughed and chatted. But as far as my food was concerned never again I've never been so poorly after a meal as I was here. Can't fault the service that was given but I'm afraid its a no from me.

Best Italian around. The bread is amazing, big fan of the garlic bread starter and pizzas in particular.
Kid-friendliness: Bambinos do fine. Maybe not for Valentine's night but aside.

Been to this local a few times, always found the food spot on and the service friendly. Would recommend for a midweek cosy dinner.
Parking: Parking over the road side of the pub is plenty of parking, a little dark no lighting

I visited Giovanni's with my wife for the first time on Sat 25th Jan 2025, having made the reservation online a few days prior.
When we got there we almost didn't get to eat as all the water in the area had been switched off due to an ongoing issue, however, pity was taken on us and we were the last ones allowed to dine.
The food was absolutely delicious, they don't try too hard to make everything fancy, it's just good, honest, hearty food at a decent price.
The service was also amazing and we ended up having a great time, chatting with the owner/manager about the water issues among other things.
It was a shame for the business that all other bookings had to be cancelled, we were the last to leave and just as we were settling the bill the water was switched back on.
Not a great night for Giovanni's but still a great experience for us, we will definitely return again soon.

I have been tonight for the first time with a friend Jack who I?ve known and worked with for 40 years,
Not shy , At my opinion of good food .
after saying my late husband was a master butcher. Obviously used to go food.
I can honestly say ,
Atmosphere the service and the food was top quality,
From entering the restaurant to leaving the restaurant, we were made very welcome.
I had fillet steak which I?ve had many at times over the last 50 years 100% good quality and a fantastic price .
For more thangood quality .
Definitely return and definitely recommend

Can?t recommend it enough.Fantastic food best I?ve tasted in a long time.We had a party of 15 and we?re all served together no one was left waiting and food was served piping hot. Staff were friendly and welcoming ,also no rush after we had finished to leave. Definitely go again and recommend to friends.
Vegetarian options: Could be a few more choices eg veggie meatballs/ spaghetti bolognaise

I have visited this place three times and the food is to die for!!!! I have brought more foodies to visit this restaurant and every single person said they would return and we are not from Manchester however the food is so divine we all agreed we would travel to this restaurant again and again.
Adam and his staff were super friendly and looked after us well?. The seafood linguini was delicious ??.. if I could score 11/10 I would.

Catering was prompt, food delicious and waiting staff very attentive. We visited as a party of 20+ for our friend's 60th birthday - nothing was too much trouble for them.
