Disappointed by poor customer service and lack of transparency
I?ve been a member at Village Cheadle for over 12 months on a corporate membership and recently tried to renew on a standard 12-month contract after leaving my employer. Despite three visits to the membership team, they were unable to process the renewal and advised I had to let the corporate membership lapse and rejoin, a needlessly complicated process.
When I returned to rejoin, I was quoted almost £100 more than my partner had paid for the exact same 12 month membership just a few months earlier. I queried this both in person and via email to head office. Despite sending a formal complaint, I received no reply or even an acknowledgement. My partner also raised the issue with the gym manager, who promised to look into it, but again we heard nothing back.
This experience has highlighted a few ongoing issues:
? Poor customer service at every level, with no follow-up or resolution
? Lack of transparency around membership pricing, with confusing and inconsistent discount structures
? No clear effort to retain loyal, existing members
It's disappointing that a business focused on memberships would make the renewal process so difficult and then ignore genuine concerns.

I?ve been a member of the village Gym since the start of this year and it?s been a great experience. They offer a range of classes, including Hyrox which is really good. In particular, Jhundore Santos and Alison Ford are great teachers - I?d really recommend the Box and Burn, Hyrox and HIIT classes!

I love the cleanliness of the gym, pool and changing rooms. The village Cheadle has everything you need. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoy going and feel confident doing so on my own. Would highly recommend ?

I have been a member of the Village Gym (Cheadle) since Christmas. Over the last two months I have had a few personal training sessions with Gomez Milton. The sessions have been challenging but highly enjoyable, and varied! I have felt, both, my strength and general fitness improve. I look forward to continuing said sessions to achieve my 2025 fitness goals! The gym is well maintained, the equipment is modern and a variety of classes are regularly held. I recommend joining!

Great gym! Fantastic PTs who are always helpful & it?s possible to get a tailored fitness programme which really helps with training. It?s obvious why this gym is so popular!!! Huge range of gym equipment across 3 rooms.

The only reason I joined this gym ?and the reason I keep coming back is because of Lisa. From day one, she?s been nothing but amazing. Supportive, kind, and always willing to help, she goes above and beyond to make sure I feel comfortable and motivated. Lisa?s not just a staff member anymore; she?s become a great friend, and honestly, she?s the one who makes my day every time I walk through those doors. The gym is lucky to have her I know I am.
