Service was poor . We had to wait an hour food to arrive. I had the quiche and have never had such a tiny piece of quiche. There was a poor choice of gluten free meals. The choice that there was , was all large portions. Nothing so simple as chicken breast in a tasty sauce.

The chicken meal I had was very small nothing like the picture on here, the rest of the meal was wonderful the layered patatos was good as were the vegetable. The vegetables almost covered the chicken which I could hardly see at first. It was bought for me so I couldn't complain and spoil the evening. I think someone was trying to make fun of me.

Really nice, friendly pub with a good (large!) menu. Of which salt and pepper fries are epic. The small plates are well worth it.
Staff really make this place; it's relaxed, friendly and just what you want for a quick, no hassle lunch on any day of the week.
Highly recommended ?

Fabulous couple of hours in the milly just before Christmas.
Maybe ask your door staff to be aware of their language in the world we live in.
We were referred to as ?you people? by a member of your door staff at ?throwing out time? which my friend saw as inflammatory and reported to the bar staff.
We left peacefully, but that might not have been the case if the same phrase was used to a different group and dynamic of customers.

Second time in a month I have visited, I used to come here when the food was exceptional. The food has gone downhill, lots of variety but there is a bit of an overuse of a microwave, leading the belief of a ping and fry cooking style being in place. Some of the food just radiates heat that can only come from microwave cooking. Chips on two plates were undercooked and the pies are a little underwhelming. Pork was so overcooked on one dish we considered a game of frisbee in the car park. All edible, but not an experience worth remembering. I would possibly return for food if I was recommended by a friend, sadly this place used to be a go to recommendation but seems to have lost its edge. Staff are really pleasant and the atmosphere nice. Just needs a bit of a push in the kitchen department to make the experience worth the while.

Visited several times for drinks. It's a pleasant traditional pub. Had a sunday lunch sharing platter. Which was massive. Would eat there again but would have a smaller meal next time.

Invited as a couple in a group of four for a late lunch.
The service team were great, but the food let the rest down.
I ordered the Mixed Game Pie, my wife ordered the Cheese & Onion Pie. Our hosts ordered the Roast Beef & Trimmings.
The Cheese & Onion pie presented was a wobbly 2" cube of something, smothered in a white sauce. There were a few onions in there, but it was disgusting.
My Game Pie was something of a mystery.
The outer crust was as hard as **ll, and when I finally got into the pie, the top was burnt on the inside! The contents was an unidentifiable paste.
I didn't want to embarrass our hosts any further so ploughed through. The roasted carrots were the best part by far.
Dessert: Marmalade and Whiskey Bread & Butter pudding with hot custard.
Another wobbly, gooey concoction with one piece of marmalade in the mix. The custard was great! The whiskey was clearly a casual visitor.
Not impressed, won't be going back in a hurry.
