Just had a meal in Black Bull. Starters were fine ,main meal came ,my wife chose lasagne which was ok I chose the gammon , it arrived the gammon was tepid at best peas cold. Spoke to the waitress who was very polite she returned the food to the kitchen ,then asked me if I wanted to wait for another gammon to be cooked or choose something else, I chose steak and ale pie. While I waited my wife finished her meal ,10 minutes later my meal arrived, wedding anniversary meal ruined .Land lady finally arrived after discussion offered apology and 10percent discount. Won?t be visiting this place again and recommend giving this place a miss to avoid disappointment.

Drinks are massively overpriced.£5.10 for an average pint of Lager, quite ridiculous really. Won't be going back..

We finally got food and hour and 10 minutes after ordering, not worth the wait unfortunately, the pie was bland and the peas like bullets ? won't be coming back, although the young waiting staff were nice and told us there had been an issue with the till, none of the senior staff bothered to even apologise for the delay

Food excellent especially the home made steak pie. Everything is good though. Nice staff. Very reasonably priced. Can't go wrong eating here.

A relaxing environment for myself who struggles with chronic anxiety would highly recommend as it's hard even enter places let alone stay in there.So I've Just had a nice quiet quick tea with my parents and wife everyone was happy with there meal and they seemed to be good sized portions. We were served at the table by a lovely young lady and given perfect timing to choose from the menus which looked impressive. As it was our first time in here we didn't book but we got a table anyway but I would recommend probably booking in advance , I would expect it would be a busy place at weekends with the Sunday roasts. Our table had Fish and chipsCheese and onion pieBeef lasagneCajun chicken and chorizoBest looking dish on our table in my opinion had to be the beef lasagne ? good job chef it cant be easy in a kitchen that size.Parking: It's a small car park , we parked on the main road with no problems.

Excellent food, Thai Green Curry, Lasagne, Steak and Ale Pie, Salmon and Sausage and mash are all fantastic. Never a bad meal.

Always go to black bull for drinks and the food always looks so decided to experiance.When we were given the menu we also received an early dining menu. It was 2 courses for £15 and the menu choices were great.Unfortunately on arrival the portion size was noticeably small and the whole table joked about it.When I asked the waitress about it I was told they reduce the size as it is a cheaper menu.If I?d now. I would have avoided choosing it and needless to say I?m starvingThe food is really good and well made and the service is excellent
