This evening their was a spider in my boyfriends mash and when we showed the staff member she didn?t look impressed either they than offered us another carvery for free, but after this incident we didn?t want to have anything else from here they then said we still would have to pay for the drinks, we managed to sort the drink problem with the manager as we was leaving but will not be going again!

This evening I went for a meal at Toby carvery and stumbled upon leg sticking out my mash, I put it aside and removed the mash off said leg to then discover a large spider sat within it.
I was offered to go and have another plate, like the food sat there didn?t contain a spider and my appetite hadn?t been ruined already . We were told to pay for the drinks (which hadn?t been drank yet). Finally a member of staff acknowledged the severity and was almost ill themselves when seeing the spider and mash and we left.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. When I arrived with my friend, there were no staff members in sight, and we had to wait 15 minutes at the cashier without any service.
When the manager finally arrived, they ignored me and prioritized serving other customers who came later. Even when I requested service, they were rude and dismissive. It felt like they deliberately refused to serve me. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I strongly advise against dining here, especially for group gatherings or parties, as the service is completely unreliable.

When the employees finally arrive, they ignored me and served priority to other customers who arrived after us. Even asking for the service, they have been impolite and dismissive. I got the impression they were intentionally refusing to serve me. This type of treatment is unacceptable. I strongly discourage this restaurant, especially for group meals or parties, as the service is totally unreliable.

No meat for walk ins, very disappointed. Service was broken English so quite bad and the place was very quiet. No meat, seriously?

The meat was good, however the vegetables were tepid and not very tasty. The floor was also covered in food from previous customers. Won't be going again.

One of the more luxuriously set Toby carverys in the UK. The old manor aesthetic is beautiful. Filled with wood panelling and Edwardian decor. It's certainly a great setting for a carvery
The staff were helpful and very chatty and interactive. Answering any questions we had.
The food is very good for a Toby carvery.

Me and my son came here for a carvery last week and the food was absolutely disgusting I left most of mine and my son pudding came out and that got sent back. The food has gone down hill here and until it improved I will not be coming back again. So disappointed

Nothing was great. The starters were disgusting. I ordered soup and was served tinned soup that had been microwaved and not even stirred. Came with stale, funky smelling bread and no butter. My fella had the mushrooms and cheese and we could tell they were mushrooms left over from the breakfast menu, with cheese added and then microwaved. Then we both had carvery for our mains. Disappointed is an under statement. They had run out of most meats and only had turkey and beef. The beef was fatty and horrible. The veg was gross looking and the only thing remotely decent was the peas. Gravy was lumpy and no mint sauce. Even the drink I asked for (passionfruit martini) wasn't available. We was going to have a dessert but after the horrendous 2 courses we decided to leave. Barely ate anything and left hungry and extremely disappointed.

We ate at the Toby carvery tonight ,my wife and I and Granddaughter ( The English family) and we were very impressed by both the quality of the food and friendly staff in attendance and found it very good value for money. Thankyou to all involved.

The worse experience I've ever had in a Toby Carvery - we won't be returning thats for sure!
Firstly we arrived just after 11am - we stood at the reception for a good 10/15mins patiently, there was no membership of staff in sight.
We made our own way to the restraunt, we was greeted by around 3/4 members of the team who looked at us in disgust.
One asked, 'are you after the carvery' we replied 'yes'.
Her response was 'its not open for 30/45mins youll have to go to the bar'
We made our way around to the bar, we waited a further 20mins for a member of staff to come around to the area and serve us.
A couple also walked in after 20mins and went to find a member of staff otherwise we would of waited there until someone decided they wanted to serve us.
The experience was terrible at this point and we contemplated leaving to go to Toby Cavery in Lytham St Anne's which we go most weeks and the service is always fantastic in there.
We got served for drinks, the lady said do you want unlimited refills or a bottle, we decided on unlimited refills, she passed my Wife two glasses and expected us to know the machine was back in the restraunt area.
The Cavery time had come, we was sat out of the way in a very dark part of the restraunt, bare in mind there was nobody in the restraunt at this time.
I requested for us to be moved which the waitress huffed at us and eventually moved us.
We wasnt explained that you don't pay upfront and we was left to it.
We went upto the Cavery as the meats and veg was left out, stood there for another 10mins, nobody came.
I had to knock on the kitchen door and ask a Chef to come and serve us.
While we was eating a number of queues built up waiting to be served and customers having the same experience over and over again. Having to knock on the kitchen to be served.
When we come to pay, the waitress never asked 'how was your food' just passed us the bill.
Honestly this is the worse managed Cavery in the North West.
I almost requested to speak to the Management but realised that it would probably fall on deaf ears so we left in a hurry.
We saw advertisement at the front of the reception for Weddings and my Wife turned to me and said can you imagine having a event in there!
I would like the Management to contact me to explain why the service was so poor.
The only positive was the look of the building and the interior.

Very quiet on a Monday lunchtime, we were sat in a room with no other diners.Only saw a waitress with the drinks, after that there was no contact.

Waited quite a while for the meat carver guy to appear, wasn't busy, so don't know what the problem was ?
The food could have been hotter but was tasty.
Was quite dark in the dining room, a little more lighting would held with the atmosphere.
