I picked out several items in my local Matalan store and had them physically in my basket, only to find out there was an online-only promotion running at the same time. I asked if they could apply the same discount at the till ? especially since the website says Click & Collect from the same store but was told they couldn?t do it in-store.
This felt really disappointing. I had the exact same items in hand, in the same store I would have collected from, yet the discount was only valid if I ordered online and waited. It doesn?t make much sense. Surely if the items are in the store and I?m ready to buy, the same promotion should apply?
I hope Matalan reconsiders how these promotions are handled. A bit more flexibility or clarity would go a long way for customers shopping both in-store and online. You just lost customer.

Me and my 3 friends walked into Matalan today and were instantly met with the security guard asking if we had an adult with us. We said no as we were not accompanied by an adult and he insisted that we had to leave because we were, ?going to mess about.?We did not want to leave as we wanted to look around, so he let us be on our way. We had been walking around the shop for around 5 minutes when he came to us and said we had to leave. We had done absolutely nothing wrong and were extremely confused why we had to exit the shop. There had been absolutely no messing about at all, there was no reason for us to have been kicked out. At the end of the day this is disrespectful, disgusting and discriminatory against this generation.To kick kids out of a shop for no reason is just unacceptable and unfair, how would you feel if your children were kicked out of a, ?family friendly,? shop ? Especially when there were no factors to this choice.Im honestly disgusted by this and will not be going back! Please tack your service and money, that you laboured for somewhere else !!!!! Disgusting?

Me and my friends just walked into Matalan and a worker in a very rude tone said and I quote "have you got an adult with you if not you have to leave because your just gonna mess about" and my friend was talking saying that we won't and we're going to buy stuff and then he said "why are you rolling your eyes at me can you stop" when none of us were so then he was like fine at this point he was being so rude so we were walking around and everywhere we were there were at least 2 employees watching us like they made it so obvious then when we got to the home section he came up to us and he was like "I'm gonna need you to leave all 4 of you" in a very rude tone so we were like why we didnt do anything then he said even more rude well I knew you weren't going to buy anything bare in mind we were going to buy stuff like we did nothing then he gave us a weird look so we left I can't like he accused us of stuff we weren't going to do plus me and my friend were in there on Saturday and we even talked to one of the workers that was watching us like just because we don't have an adult with us doesn't mean we're going to do anything like this is ridiculous this is discrimination against our generation I'm not impressed.
