Agonisingly long waiting times. Seemingly understaffed. Also, why are they barely open on the weekends?! However the staff are quite friendly if you're lucky enough to be seen.

Absolutely Shocking customer service if I could score 0 stars I would. We have had a business banking issue for 4 months that still hasn?t been resolved where our money is just floating around in the ether somewhere if we owed HSBC money I?m sure it would be dealt with very quickly and efficiently and with financial consequences for us! Shame on you HSBC

Terrible bank, needed help with business banking but the bank do not care at all. They have gotten worse over the years, requested for my online banking to be sorted it?s been almost 5-6 weeks and still had no response.

1 star is very generous.The time now is 13:50 and I have been trying since 9am to add a trading name to my business account after being advised to attend the branch with letter headed paper by webchat and telephone banking and attending twice with the requested letter.The 'bank manager' as I left was setting up online banking for an elderly customer - this is not a criticism but a basic admin task. This would be a 5 star service if you are elderly, you do not mind waiting, and you do not have any family support, however as a business, you could also train an apprentice to do this for a fraction of the managers wage.Everyone seems to be running around like headless chicken.I am in business myself and I could probably save HSBC millions by managing the branches more efficiently. It does not surprise me that banks are shutting branches if this is how they are run. This is an honest review of the service from my opinion and I do not want to be too negative.I was given a Business Account - Change Title of Account form, but it did not make sense when it is asking for Deed Poll, Marriage Certificates, Etc., and I had lost all confidence in the advice that I was being given. I was even left thinking if Nicola is actually the bank manager.I would also find a long stay car park, or use public transport, as you might return to the car to a parking ticket like I did. Short stay on the street is definitely not enough time.If you are in the North West and want to use HSBC as a business customer then I believe Preston is the only branch that has a 'business specialist'.I hope this helps.

They often block your account suddenly (without a good reason) then they unblock it and say only sorry, we suspected to your statement!!

HSBC in Bolton town centre is a fairly good branch, and it makes me glad I rejoined HSBC. At the time of writing, this branch has the best opening hours compared to any other bank elsewhere in the town centre, although they still close at 4 pm due to temporary COVID-19 reasons, this is still at least an hour longer than the closest other bank. I do think it's annoying how they're closed on weekends right now though, and I hope that changes as soon as possible. It is pretty spacious inside, with a lift/stairs to what I presume are meeting / private rooms. A good number of ATM's inside the branch, including one outside, I did find the machines pretty confusing however, they had three different types of machines and I didn't know which one to use - One machine was a standard ATM for withdrawing cash - One machine was for paying in cash - Another machine had a keyboard and seemed to offer banking services? I do think they should try to group together basic facilities into one machine, it makes little sense to have different machines for paying in and withdrawing cash, especially when other banks combine them. The staff did seem friendly and happy to help, they helped guide me to the right machine for my banking, they didn't seem to be offering a counter service but they did have staff members on the door to greet/help customers. 4* - Probably my favourite bank in Bolton,
