Very disappointed returns process at Manchester store! Tried to replace a £19 strip light due to a manufacturer faulty switch. Unfortunately the recipe was missing however after being quizzed for nearly 45 minutes a replacement was not offered!!!!! Having recently spent approximately £2.5-3k at IKEA in the past twelve months and also attending this store today to also pick up an order for £1200 I cannot believe that a goodwill gesture was not offered to replace the fitting. As a result I will purchase a replacement fitting to replace the faulty one, let?s hope this one works, however I will have a receipt for the new one so will be able to return if anything!!!!!! Goes wrong. If I could of cancelled my pick up order today I would of however the unit was required to complete a lounge set up so it was out of my hands, however it will be a long time before I make anymore if any transactions at IKEA in the near future.

Went today on behalf of a friend to order and collect a three seater settee, fortunately we were assisted by a young lady I think her name is Sarah who was the most polite and helpful person we have been assisted by for years, good luck at university, and well done IKEA

I know school holidays are not the best times to visit IKEA restraunts, it was very busy but the staff are exceptionally slow, there was a queue at both serving points both moving very slowly, it needed an extra member of staff at each position. Unfortunately this might have made things worse at the checkout, there was large queues at both tills, there is four tills but only two were working, then they closed one of the tills. When coming into the restaurant all the soft seating in the booths had been slashed, giving a great impression of the cafe/restraunt and a furniture store. We gave up on the restaurant after a long wait, did our shopping thinking we could get something from the bistro, here we found one member of staff who couldn?t work any slower, is there nobody in charge at Ashton, gave up on the bistro too, will not be visiting again especially during school holidays as I wouldn?t like to disturb the staff.

My toddler asks to go here sometimes for food, I wouldn't bother if she didn't. The board with the menu changes quicker than anyone could possibly read it and then they never have what you want when you get to the front, staff never seem to restock. The veggie option was sold out and they offered us chicken as a replacement bizarrely. I asked for a menu and they couldn't give me one, so you no time to decide while a big queue is behind you. It's just awful and dirty and poorly layed out. The furniture is trash too, we got a wardrobe, it broke within a month.

As a client and ikea family member for more than 15 years I bought a product placed in the wrong isle and unfortunately it wasn?t the item I was meant to buy and as I went to refund the item they said that wasn?t possible as I had already opened it. The most unhelpful customer service experience in my life and the person who attended us was named Deacon(customer service manager), he wasn?t professional and he wasn?t polite and also very rude. Be aware that when you buy anything from ikea, any item that is open won?t be accepted for a refund. The managers attitude is absolutely disgusting and I will never shop there again

I visited ikea with my daughter to get a shelving unit. Have been visiting regularly since it opened and have always had an enjoyable experience. However, we visited the cafe for some lunch and I asked for a decaf tea (I?m allergic to caffeine) the girl on the till gave me a sachet of decaf coffee so I pointed out it was coffee, not tea, and she proceeded to speak to me like an idiot and pointed to the word ?decaf? on the sachet. I told her I could see it was decaf but coffee and not tea. She then said they didn?t sell decaf tea. I have had decaf tea here on many occasions so knew this wasn?t the case but her curt manner discouraged me from arguing it so I settled for herbal. On reaching a table in what was quite a busy restaurant, we found it to be filthy with various spills and food over it. As it was so busy I found a staff member and asked for a cloth so I could wipe it down myself. He refused to give me a cloth saying he would come and do it for me when he?d finished his task. As our food was now going cold I again offered to wipe it myself if he could point me in the direction of a cloth. He completely ignored me so we ended up eating our food off trays. He still hadn?t been over to clean it when we left. The rest of the staff in the store were courteous when I encountered them. But avoid the restaurant at all costs as the standard has definitely slipped!

Disigenuous to call Ashton under Lyne Manchester. If you're not from the area, Ashton is 7.4 miles away. The store was built high-rise inexplicably in a town, making it very congested with people and traffic, I also found it very confusing to enter the carpark. I had to drive around a few times in heavt traffic to find the entrance. There were enough staff around the store, who gave me conflicting internal directions, there were insufficient staff on the tills, so queus were enormous and staff under pressure. The managers will know the ebbs and flows of customers at particular times, so should staff accordingly. I abandonded my bag of items as the queue was too long. I was told a food item was out of stock due to brexit. I don't plan to return, ever. I don't remember the Warrington one being quite so bad, but you have to pick your moment.

Bought a rug which was very poor quality and nothing like what was on display. Literally opened packaging, put it on the floor and immediately knew it was total sh*te so I packaged it back up to return. Only to be told the refund would have to go on a card. I asked why and they said it was because it had been opened. I explained that how on earth is anyone supposed to ascertain the quality of an item when it?s wrapped in plastic? They argued ?most? rugs were on display. I then asked why they had signage all through the warehouse saying ?it?s ok to change your mind? when clearly IT ISN?T!! Outright lies! I was told the return policy was on the website. I said why on earth would I check the website when I?m in the store with all this reassuring signage saying you can return up to 365 days! I?ve since checked the website and it says NOTHING about the method of the refund - it simply states if the item has its packaging and is in a resaleable condition you can get a refund. Not a gift card, an REFUND. To me that means money back in my bank! After my experience I?ll never shop at ikea again. I have a bathroom cabinet I?ve not opened yet and I?ll be returning that. I?d rather pay double elsewhere than let ikea have any of my money. I?ll be emailing the CEO (yes Tony at Ashton, there is a UK CEO you lanky long haired balloon and it?s not just ?owned by people in Sweden? as you said you idiot).

Terrible experience at Ashton Under Lyne Manager Natalie unhelpful and very sarcastic. I returned a kitchen inner cupboard as was not compatible with my kitchen ; Ikea kitchens are not standard size, only to be told you have opened the package so can not have a refund! Did not know until opened it would not fit, there were no sizes on outer packaging. The parts were all there and in immaculate condition. This is a dreadful policy and I am not entirely sure the Manager knows her company policies entirely! I will not shop there again and I have spent a lot of money there in the past, as far back as the eighties when Ikea arrived in Warrington,

Went to IKEA with my wife and 9 month old baby. Bought a clamp on desk lamp which was advertised over the shelf with a banner at £13.00. Went to the till and the scan showed £17.00. Told the member of staff on the till that it was shown at £13.00. He told ME that I had to go and take a picture to prove it! I asked him if he could call a colleague to find out and he said NO there?s nobody in that department! This meant I had to go up the lift to the top floor, trundle all the way around the one way system and go down to the first floor to take a photo to prove to them their mistake! I complained to the manager who insincerely apologised and then stared at me ?meaning I can go now!?. It felt like they cared more about the feelings of their staff than their customers. This spoiled my day and all because the staff were lazy.
