We had a lovely meal last Saturday evening. After each course we were asked if we would like more. Service was good. Everyone was very pleasant and courteous. We would definitely return and recommend this restaurant for good service and value for money

I have been many times to this restaurant over the last 25 plus years. There is a set price evening buffet menu available, which was £15 per person the first time I visited, this has now risen over the years to £26.90. A very good selection of starters and main courses are available. As long as you finish any ordered food, there is no limit to what you can order. A pad and pen are on the table to write the dishes you would like to order. My favourites are the starters, especially the selection of ribs. The crispy duck is excellent. If you have room, there is a very good choice of main courses to choose from. I have never had a bad meal here, or had bad service. If you like Chinese food, this is a must visit place.

taste ok, satay sauce just water and lots of onion. just onion and 5 shrimps - embarrassing. Malaysian sauce has more of it and is better but with 80% onion, £10.50 for just onion and a few shrimps?

If you like gristly cold food, rude staff, poor attitude and being made to feel cheap then this is the place for you.
That's not my preference so I'll not be going there again

We recently visited The Chef which we have been to many times, the food was very good especially the starters, The staff as always were extremely helpful and polite, especially our waitress, Lim.
We will certainly be dining there again.

DONT WASTE UR MONEY..!!!
the staff are so rude here they completely ruined our night, got moaned at for ordering more starters, there was 12 of us and they didn?t bring enough food out to cater for us all, got moaned at and eyes rolled because all my daughter wanted to eat was chips and prawn crackers (she?s very very fussy) moaned at because my son dropped a chicken satay on the floor and they had to replace it (he?s 4), moaned at because we asked for another portion of duck and told we must eat every scrap on the plate (4 big males nothing was left over), after we had spent over £50 on drinks we asked for a jug of water for the table and that seemed like a massive problem, pointing at us and talking to one another in their language
Bottom line unless u want rude staff and mediocre food Id stay well away if I was you

I would have rated this 0stars but unfortunately had to select one to be able to provide this review! The staff are disgustingly rude the more you order the more rude they become we left two spring rolls as nobody liked them we was told you ?no you haven?t finished? when we went to order more they was very reluctant to serve us more. The aromatic crispy lamb even though the portions they were serving were tiny for a table of 9! They became increasingly rude huffing puffing and told us you haven?t ordered mains yet ?maybe you need to think about saveing your self some space your eating a lot? at this point we had only ordered two portions which were tiny of the aromatic lamb it made us feel very very uncomfortable they brought a small sauce pot of satay sauce out between nine of us we asked if we could have another please they huffed puffed rolled there eyes and reluctantly brought one out. The staff member dropped a plate whilst she was aggressively clearing the table because we had ordered more starters and she wanted us to move onto the mains before we were ready she cracked a glass we didn?t noticed the glass had cracked untill she walked away on return she shouted at us ?you will have to pay for that? even though we had informed her it happened when she had dropped the plate as she was clearing the table she continued to shout at us rolling her eyes shouting and pointing in her language to her colleague. I was with my autistic son and neice both of which are very fussy eaters all they would eat is plain chips this had never been a problem in the past with the old owners, in the beginning when we had said only 7 are eating from the buffet menu they had a massive problem with this too they called over a member of staff speaking in there language pointing at my son and neice and they proceeded to have a member of staff at all times standing over our table watching the two children who would only eat chips at all times to make sure no food touched there mouths other than the chips,my neice got up to use the toilet with my daughter after a few minutes of them being in the toilet the staff member actually proceeded to open the door that leads to the toilets and shouting at her colleague whilst doing this it was as if she was checking to make sure my neice wasn?t eating anything in secret in the toilet the service and the way they made my family feel so uncomfortable that night we will never be returning after looking at the reviews today I can see we arnt the only family that have been made to feel this way it?s disgusting unnessecery and very very unprofessional my daughter loves Chinese and this is the place we chose to take her for her birthday I will never be returning!! I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE OTHERS TO NOT WASTE THERE TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE!!

Just had our mothers 90th birthday celebration there. Very helpful obliging staff...had 2 round tables together. They kept our cake in the fridge the night before ready to bring out, singing happy birthday.
Attentive service, good and plentiful food just kept coming.
Ideal venue, easy parking and not too loud so everyone can talk and hear themselves.
