Great selection but as others have mentioned, consistently mispriced. There is little to no effort to label stock correctly - I've had to take items back many times after queueing. Particularly frustrating given the prices are so high generally!

Nice shop but things are consistently rung up incorrectly at the till. Sale items scanned as full price, deals shown on shelves not honored at till, or prices simply rung up differently to those advertised. One would hope it?s down to bad admin rather than deliberate, but either way it?s frustrating to have to monitor what you?re being charged when checking out. Make sure to check the screens before paying. Just today I was told to pay £3.85 more as their buy one get one free deal didn?t load (I noticed and they corrected before I paid). Small amounts each time may seem like no big deal for the customer, but would add up to a lot of money for the shop if this is happening to everyone.

Mid-way between a high end deli and a convenience store, the SPAR on Orford Road AKA Eat 17 is a great local grocery store if you belong to a six figure tax bracket. Cheap home-brand products are few and far between, but if your mate in finance came back from Ibiza and reckons they've found their new favourite brand of luxury Greek crisps, they probably stock them here for 10 quid a pop. Lovely staff, good deli and meat counter.

A great shop that manages to have almost everything! Very useful shop and helpful staff. Will use it more now I realise all the essentials they have in store.

Any time I buy fruit, veg or anything fresh (e.g. milk), it's gone off. Overpriced and poor quality.

The best local supermarket in the area. If you?re looking for higher quality items, and more niche, exciting products. The pizza slices are excellent too.

Pretentious. Moi. I guess it?s what you expect from Walthamstow Village.

Completely overpriced stuff that for the most part is not even healthy or organic.
I?d pay that much if the food was actually free from harmful chemicals and organic.
Young staff that doesn?t seem too motived to serve/help either, I hope its not because they are being underpaid :/

Tried Eat17?s new hot food counter - absolutely delicious (and generous)
lentil & mushroom soup that came with fresh baguette slice for a fiver.

Unreasonable prices, increasing every few months, this has nothing to do with inflation, it?s greed

The new manager is a very rude man, Does not have communication skills

Consistently trying to rip off their customers by putting in the wrong price of (already heavily overpriced) items at the cashier, failing to apply discounts displayed on shelves, scanning items more than once, etc. It used to be an occasional issue, now it?s just the norm. Very disappointing.

I usually like this place and it's ambience but today a guy with spectacles shadowed around me as though I was stealing something. He told one of his co-workers in his regional language keep eyes on him he is a thief. My perception about this guy became even stronger when I saw him telling off his colleague arrogantly while I was waiting in the queue to pay. What a shame that such people are working where customers are treated like a criminal. Never will I go to this place again.

Good place with a good selection but super expensive, so be ready to pay for what you buy.

This is now co-run with Eat 17 as far as the sign indicates - images and the name should be updated to reduce confusion.Moved to the area recently and OH MY GOD the prices here are mad. I used to shop at my local, schmancy organic, vegan, etc store and the prices there weren't cheap but MUCH less ridiculous than the prices here. Was seeing items here for several pounds more than they were sold at the last bougie place. But worse here is that the selection isn't that great - for example I wanted pecorino cheese and the only options were 2 bougie £8+ versions (because they were truffle flavoured or whatever). All the things I used to go to my last local fancy shop for either aren't stocked here or are so absurdly expensive (even for the village) that it's not worth it - needless to say I'll be actively avoiding this place. The responses from the manager on people's reviews are garbage as well. Email them to tell them what? What's already in your review? The bog-standard response to a black man complaining of racial profiling in the shop is really cheap. Not a fan. Do better. Boo.EDIT: yay! I got one of those stock standard garbage responses about emailing them with their complaints. Why bother when others have said nothing comes of it? The other day I found a product in a store for £2.70 that was being sold at this store for over £4 which reminded me of how silly it is. I'm sure it would be CHEAPER to go to the Eat17 next door for a lot of meals than it would be to buy the ingredients from this shop and then spend the time making it yourself ?
