Refused to accept my return ten minutes before closing as they had already shut down their system. There was a complete lack of customer care, two employees stood doing nothing in an empty shop seeing that I was clearly carrying a lot of boxes and I was nonchalantly advised I would just have to come back the next morning at 9.30am. Unfortunately I work full time so returning midweek is not an option (which I explained) and to return via a courier is chargeable. I note others have had the same issue (I believe with the same manager) given the multiple bad reviews on here. Shame this concession is letting down the Clarks name with such bad customer care.

Bought some trainers young lady who served me was ok smiled and replied when I spoke but the other older lady didn't acknowledge me at all no wonder store was empty sometimes you have to smile and acknowledge people even if you don't feel like it! I worked in a shop for many years!

Bought some shoes for my son here. The day after I went to return them as my husband and I had a misunderstanding and he also bought him shoes. When I asked to return them, apologised and explained the lady looked proper annoyed. She looked at the shoes and because the had a bit of dust underneath she said they had been worn and refused to take them back. I explained that I had the shoes only a few hours and when my son tried them he run around the whole shop and that was just a bit of dust that could have been wiped, they weren't dirty like worn outside also because the top of the shoes were immaculate. Yet, the lady refused to take them. I will strongly discourage to buy for kids in this shop because if you have any problems they will probably refuse to exchange or return. They might have some selling targets that struggle to achieve so they make it difficult for people to hand items back.

Wow what can I say excellent service .. manger was fantastic really helpful and professional shout out to the other ladies also .. had issue with Romford store different level of service at Upminster I live in grays but I will be going back to Upminster to buy my shoes 10/10

An old blond lady working there refused to serve me four minutes before closing. This is unfair. I will also email Clarks. I was disappointed. I used to buy lots of shoes for my 3-year-old son, but after what happened, I won?t go there anymore.

I was served by Valerie who was very friendly and helpful. She was very patient and kind with measuring a 2 year old' s feet and it was a very nice experience.Thankyou Valerie.2 lovely pair of shoes for my granddaughter. 1 st class customer care.I have so much faith in her professionaism and know the shoes fit well.Thanks again.RegardsJayne bowler

manager here is disgustingly lazy. her name is naeed i think someone said. she is always on her phone and does not acknowledge for a minute when a customer walks in. she is very rude to staff and was bossing them around constantly telling them to fix shoes or do something even when nothing needs to be done because she doesn?t want them standing around, which is hypocritical for someone who stands there and uses their phone. she even answered a call and left the shop floor unattended. i asked her a question about a shoe and she seemed very irritated by the number of questions i asked, however, i was buying these shoes for a friend and i wanted them to be perfect. left the stoor unsatisfied and was unable to purchase a lovely christmas gift for a friend. whatever you do, do not shop at clarks upminster poor manager.

Went in on the 30/08/2022 - to buy shoes for my toddler - only to discover they offer: awful service, terrible customer care and employ very lazy staff who believe that assisting customers is an inconvenience. They prefer talking amongst themselves and ignoring customers.....! Dear Clarks - Upminster - Do your staff members not read their job spec when applying...? Even the job title - Shop Assistance - provides a slight clue - which your staff members in Upminster seem to miss? Shame this good old fashioned British company got taken over by a Hong Kong company. Certainly missing the good old fashioned British Customer Service... I would be surprised if their staff in Upminster even know what customer service is? Let's just say I left without a pair of shoes, although I found two pairs which I would have bought if they had bothered to serve me - both at £50 per pop.

Absolutely terrible service at this store. An awful woman named Debbie served me and tried to belittle me for returning shoes that didn?t fit properly. Not only was she incredibly rude to me, but she was also clearly being very aggressive to another member of staff too. This is not the first time I?ve witnessed this either. I?m surprised she still works there! I will definitely not be returning! Avoid!
