Came for 5point check. Usually quite helpful. Saw him helping with bikes in the store earlier, so maybe couldn?t be asked! Battery wasn?t checked even though the report sent to me says passed!

A huge thankyou to Nick from Balham Halfords for replacing my headlight. I had excellent customer service. The blue light discount was a sweet bonus.

I have been in twice in the last 24 hours and was served by Scott both times. He gave me great advice about rooftop bars and the fixings that I needed and then about snow socks this morning. Brilliant experience x 2. Thanks, Scott!

I brought my bicycle for repair to Halfords after EVANS CYCLE in Wimbledon completely messed it up after almost 2 months of holding my bicycle to only change the break pads. Now it works amazingly well, Thank you. Definitely worth the 40 minutes walk to the store, Evans Cycle is 2 minutes walk from me but I will never visit their store again.

Fast and efficient. They were busy today (Sunday) but it's to be expected. The young chap who helped me was friendly. I did not see any disabled parking.

due to closure of Wandsworth site i had to use service in this site and experience was not great at all. Firstly attitude of the staff which behaved patronisingly. But important part was the job which has been done. I had issues with my spokes which went off and it affected my rim. The job was done the way that they change just a few broken spokes and charged me only for new tyre which wasn?t needed. After a few commutes my other spokes went off again. I believe it could be done by exchanging the rim.. Because the job needs to be reclaim and i will be without bike again for some time?????

I was served by Nick and he was fantastic! I?m really pleased with the service and felt happy when I left. His experience and expertise was evident and I felt safe knowing he did a great job. This was Halfords in Balham and I had a dash cam fitted!Sad that they don?t get paid well and are shutting down majority of the stores. They?re very convenient and very much in demand!

There were a few issues getting the bike delivered to the store but Nelson in the Balham store overcame them and gave excellent service, updating me regularly even on his days off and generally being a superb client relationship guy. Thanks Nelson!

Helpful staff! Licence plate was hit/broken & I was in a rush to get fixed before heading on trip on the weekend. Ordered a plate and it only took an hour to get. The guy had a tough job with some rusted screws but did a great job to get the new one on (he said it was a challenge) and the guy behind the counter was friendly and did my tyre pressure while I waited too. Would recommend this place - great service! .

This is going to be a long one, so the short version is: don't try to buy a bike from this store (or really any Halford's bike), especially via the cycle to work program! Here's the timeline of what happened to me:I was scheduled to pick up my Carrera Vengeance 2.1 eBike that I'd ordered through the cycle to work program on Wednesday the 8th at 11:30am. I noticed that the website still didn't show it as built at this time, so I tried calling the store. That sends you to a central customer service line. After about a half hour, they confirmed it wasn't built, but said it would absolutely be ready by 1pm.I show up at the store at 1pm as directed, and the bike isn't ready. The battery isn't even charged, and they received the bike on Monday according to the online tracking. No one is even available to build my bike. I just think, "Fine, I've worked in multiple outdoor retail stores, sometimes things just get busy and get away from you." So I run some errands, come back in an hour, and no progress. It's annoying, but I don't want to be a pain, so I go across the street to get some work done at the pub. I come back in 2 hours thinking surely the bike will be ready, but still not. I hang around the store for about an hour until I flag someone down to finish up the bike. We get it done, and none of the electronics work. They tell me they'll have their tech diagnose the issue and call me first thing in the morning. I'd already mentioned to they employee that I was using the cycle to work scheme to buy the bike, and he agreed that I'd be entitled to some kind of discount for the inconvenience. I decided to leave it at that because I was sick of hanging around this shop, and I needed to get back to work.I don't get a call Thursday or Friday, so I call Friday evening and ask what's going on. The same annoying central help line tells me they'll need to order a new bike, and it'll be ready next Wednesday. The store calls me on Monday, but just to try and upsell me some run-flat goo for my tires. I'm a little annoyed, but whatever; it's their job I guess. They say they'll call me on Tuesday to confirm they've received the bike. Not surprisingly, I don't hear from them until Friday. They call to say it's ready. So I head back to the store, and I'm there for about an hour because they're having trouble with their point of sale system. Once I'm finally ready to pay, I wait another 10 minutes to talk to the manager about what kind of discount they can offer since the whole thing has been such a hassle. THIS is when he informs me that I can't put the cycle to work voucher toward the bike because it exceeds the voucher value. I explained that I would pay the excess, and that this was the first I was hearing of it. Their website didn't stop me from selecting that bike with my voucher code. He insists it was in the fine print; there was nothing he could do about it; and that he wouldn't be offering any discount. So I left without the bike or the approximately £200 in accessories I was planning to purchase and walked home. I've never been so let down by a retail shop or received such poor service from a manager. I should note that all the other employees seemed to be trying their best in a bad situation, but the manager was completely unapologetic, unwavering, and didn't even try to suggest alternative solutions.I'm now trying to get the paycheck deduction removed via my HR department, but I can't help feeling that this is exactly what Halford's planned, and I'll be stuck with the £1,000 deduction and now bike. I now firmly believe Cycle to Work through Halford's is a con.
