I went there tonight and the service was abysmal. The food was subpar but I was willing to overlook this and enjoy my night until I was handed water, straight away I could smell alcohol and when tasted there was a very distinct taste. Which means the glass was dirty. When we complained to the staff they were rude and tried to have an argument with us. The man said he would never give us a dirty cup because he cares but when told to smell the glass he smelt it and quickly put it on the side. I witnessed several member of staff drinking alcohol in the corner of the bar also. I paid the bill but I shouldn?t have really. The staff just wanted to argue and didn?t want to take accountability, a simple sorry would have sufficed for me. Horrible service and horrid food.

Best lamb biryani and veg curry for miles around. Joy is not my nearest Indian restaurant but I wanted a quality meal delivered. Such a flavoursome, huge biryani compared to the nearer, slightly cheaper places and the veg curry was so different from the usual ones with 8 or 9 different veg in a really tasty sauce. This was despite ordering at peak time.I?ve enjoyed the restaurant before but this was the first delivery. Well worth it!

Lovely place well Worth a visit.. Curries were bang on (garlic chilli chicken was spectacular) spice wise madras was tasty and hot! Tikka masalla was creamy n delicious. Onion and potato bhaji was very nice indeed other sides and breads as you would expect.... Good service and good atmosphere £45 a head.. Would reccomend.

As a regular customer, I can't help but gush about how amazing Joy Indian Cuisine is! It truly is the best restaurant in Surbiton. The food is not only delicious but also very affordable, making it a great value for money. The staff is exceptional, for their service. They go above and beyond to accommodate all dietary preferences, like making a special non-spicy dish for my friend. And let me tell you, my friend couldn't get enough of it! The waiter was a gem, guiding us on the perfect meal choices and making sure we didn't over-order. The bill was a pleasant surprise, with reasonable pricing and no hidden fees. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also top-notch, being the largest and most beautiful in Surbiton. And let's not forget about the garlic naan - it was out of this world! Freshly baked and paired perfectly with the curry. We had an absolute blast at the last Elvis Night, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Joy Indian Cuisine truly brings joy to our dining experience every time we visit.

Food quality has gone down in the past 2 or 3 years. Tasteless . Take away even worse. Not going back there again or order a takeaway.this is definitely not a 4 star restaurant.

Unfortunately despite the food eventually being good, the service we were offered on a Saturday night was shocking. It took us an hour to order any food at all, and a further hour to receive our starters and mains (no idea why these weren?t brought separately). Numerous times we?d ask if our food would be long and we kept being told only 5 minutes more?There wasn?t even enough room on the table for all the food, so much so, we were simply being handed boiling hot plates which burnt my friends hand. There was a waiter we?d ask for more drinks, and he?d disappear never to be seen again!! After 30 minutes and asking 3 waiters for the bill, we went to the bar to try and pay and explained how disappointed we were by the service. No apology at all was offered and it seems an excepted way of working here - really disappointing as new to the area and looking for our home curry house. It won?t be here!!!

Excellent meal and perfect service. All round, we had a perfect meal at Joy in Surbiton. We highly recommend and definitely will return!Dietary restrictions: Caters well for gluten free and also doesn't use artificial colours in their food.
