Stopped in for a drink after visiting Cope Water.
The Akell's beer was good and the staff friendly. Nice garden, which is dog friendly.

Casual Sunday drink. Could barely sit in the garden for the wasps. We persevered and had a couple, but sad to see the place so quiet. Why not use the BBQ, get a pizza oven? However, the bar staff were great and welcoming. It'll be a while before we come back.

Lovely food, I find it hard as im a vegetarian and other food establishments have no idea how to cook vegetarian food, I had the halomi burger and husband had the gammon ?? great staff very friendly

Reserved a table for 7, put us right next to a party that was going on in the next room couldn't here yourself think let alone talk to anyone else on the table, ordered food fish and chips ? rank, ive eaten thicker tracing paper than what the fish was, it was all batter.. chips was luke warm someone else at the table had a refund because there food was bad.. awful place

Stayed here for work travel on a Wednesday, no complaints from us, enjoyed the food & good pints, friendly staff, nice accommodation detached from the pub overlooking the beer garden, there is a balcony on the upper floor rooms. Nice atmosphere, big free car park. I would visit & stay again. Thank you

Went here because it was close to coate. Employees seem happy which is rare, place felt welcoming to someone with poor social skills like me. Food did what it needed, I appreciated the overwhelming amount of mayo in my order.

We stayed overnight here with our dog, and it was a very pleasant experience. Lovely big rooms with everything you could possibly need. Land ladies are so very welcoming and really made us feel comfortable.
Location wise, it's right next to a beautiful lake that takes around an hour to walk around. Absolutely perfect stop off on our way through and very dog friendly.
Marked down one point for food as there wasn't any vegan options in the evening so we had to go elsewhere for food, but they did say they would take it on board for future guests. We also bought our own milk to have with breakfast as there was no non-dairy.
