“On Tuesday 22 August I needed lens wipes so I entered the Superdrug in the Stratford Centre. At age 86 and partially blind I was feeling distressed in the hot weather after visiting the Moorfields Eye Hospital. The Superdrug security guard saw I was disorientated so asked if he could help me. I said I wanted lens wipes so he went to the assistant at the closest counter who called somebody on her phone. The guard returned and said I should go to EYE CARE at the back of the shop. Not seeing very well I set off down the aisle but saw coming towards me a young man holding a small cardboard box. “Here are your lens wipes, sir!” said the young man with a friendly smile. I was amazed that I had received this level of service in any chain store which would not have been bettered anywhere in the world. I cannot praise Superdrug Stratford Centre highly enough and thank those three members of staff who looked after me so well and lifted my spirits in what had until then been a very tiring and unsatisfactory day.
